Our check in was easy. The room is neat And overall tidy. There are toiletries provided. Room has mini fridge, microwave and utensils. However since it was summer, the weather becomes to humid in the evening and electric fan is only available upon request which we dont know on the 1st day. It wasn’t a good sleep for me. The blankets were itchy and my daughter got flee bites on 3rd day. The pool is not maintained. Check out was fast.

This motel should be renamed a ‘backpackers’ as the facilities were most definitely not to a motel standard. The room had no information booklet about the ‘motel’ or Hastings. The furnishings and decor were definitely past their use by date and need a major upgrade. The stairwell to the upstairs units was absolutely filthy, obviously never been cleaned. The jumbo bin used for motel rubbish was smelly and full to overflowing and on full view of the motel exit. Not a good look. I wish I had read the reviews before staying here. A very poor image for Hastings.

The shower didn't drain properly so it meant you were standing in soapy water. The plant box at the top of the stairs had rubbish in it. The woman on reception was unhelpful. The notice at the front said "Units from $59", but these were apparently only dorm beds. False advertising.

I booked last minute and only after I booked, did I check the reviews. I was very nervous upon checking in but overall if was everything you need for a 1 night stay. We were going to Splashplanet so it was so conveniently close by. I had called a couple of times before we got there to check a few things and found the person on the other end of the phone very helpful and polite. Check in was easy and although the rooms are basic, we had a clean and comfortable space. The bed was comfy and minimal noise surrounding us. We didn't use the motel pool but other families were enjoying it while we were there. One thing for owners to consider would be better locks for the doors in the rooms and the external door to 2nd floor. I did feel a bit vulnerable with only the push lock on the unit door and there was no lock to lock the external door leading down to the carpark. Maybe a pinpad lock would be considered on this door to allow your guests to come in late but to keep other guests safe. Otherwise, this was a cheap and easy place to stay. Thank you.

Not staying here again. Just wanted a peaceful place to stay before a long drive home the next day. The room stunk of stale alchohol. Got the smell as soon as we walked in.The entire place including the room was extremely run down. The walls super thin so could hear EVERYTHING that was happening in the room next door🤮 Didn't sleep much so defeated the purpose off there stay. I get it's budget accomm but come on, fill the holes, fresh coat of paint, fix the plumbing, shampoo the carpets, so disappointing. It reminded me of motels in horror movies. Couldn't wait to leave. Yuck👎🏽

This is the worst motel, ever. Very outdated rooms and decor not to mention the furniture/bedding, the pillows were just disgustingly stained. The room smelt terrible of indian food. Nō mention that this hotel also houses people from emergency housing, place was full of hideousness. Didn't even stay, nō way was i bringing my children inside, so we left. Nō rectification from owner or manager, filthy place.

Service was lovely, but the room was disgusting with broken tiles, unclean cups etc no milk, internet, tv, they folded my dirty towel for me to reuse. No lights etc gang presence with strong smells of illegal drugs. Would never recommend or come back.

This clean and well appointed room with kitchenette was just what I needed for a short stay in Hawkes Bay. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were quick to send me something I left behind. And the room was affordable compared to other accommodation in the Hawkes Bay. I'll be staying there again.

This is the worst motel I have stayed in, ever. Very dated rooms, the pillows were just horrible. No air-con, just an inadequate thing on the wall which did not heat the room, not sufficient for an NZ winter, so I was really cold all night and didn't sleep well. No shampoo or hairdryer. Don't stay here.

Was clean, tidy, comfortable motel. Staff were friendly and nothing was a problem.
Appreciate having a haven after being evacuated from our storm damaged home.
