We have just finished a 4 night stay at Commodores Lodge... and we could not fault it. Sue and Hamid are the most welcoming hosts you could wish for, so friendly and always there with a smile. The location is as perfect as could be, right on the waterfront, 2 mins walk to everything, great views. We stayed in room 12 which is a 1 bedroom unit, newly renovated, with a great poolside terrace. It was well equipped with everything you could need, we didn't want for anything. Already wondering when we can return.... thanks Sue and Hamid for an excellent holiday!

Absolutely enjoying our stay here. We were met by Linda, who checked us in. Linda could not have been friendlier or nicer. The accommodation is fabulous and couldn’t ask for a better location, it’s extremely comfortable, and has all the amenities we certainly need. There’s a lovely outdoor area outside our room, a pool and even a laundry.

Right on the water front. The owners were really helpful and showed us around the place and room. Room was really spacious, clean and well stocked. We were even given instructions on how to avoid the traffic going back through Auckland. Thank you very much for a most enjoyable stay.

Commodore Lodge is excellent in all respects. Fantastic situation on waters edge in beautiful Russell. Close to restaurants and bars. Units are very good. Overlooking nice pool with outside seating area suitable for eating. Very well equipped to an extremely high standard. This is our 3rd visit. Unfortunately it was spoiled on the last day by a group of 3 couples who started drinking outside at about 4 30 pm. They then stared shouting, singing with loud music and this continued without a break until 11pm with no regard for other residents. It was impossible to sit or eat outside. I feel that the motel must be careful when letting to groups and make it clear that loud music, noise and excessive drinking is not acceptable.

We love Russell and after a long period of not being able to visit staying at the Commodores Lodge was going to be a big treat We paiad premium for what we thought would be a trouble free relaxing stay. We were disappointed with the standard of cleanliness of kitchen Items and toilet, damaged items in the unit of various types and lack of attention to detail. Lovely friendly staff.

This was a great place to stay! The location next to the port is fantastic, and there is a wonderful restaurant right next door, as well as many just across and down the street. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, with a separate seating, dining, and kitchenette. The host, Rowena, was very friendly and helpful. Don't overpack, because you can do laundry onsite! There is parking right in front of the check in office. It's a great place to relax for a few days!

Fantastic location, spacious rooms and most of all, a really lovely and warm host. Only slight issue is the lack of total parking, but not really a massive issue. Rooms were spotless, straight out to the waterfront or the main street, next to the Duke. Can't fault it.

Absolutely beautiful. Couldn't ask for a better location, it's right on the beach and opposite the pier. The pool area is really well maintained and the suites have everything you'd need. They have kayaks and bikes for free hire which is a brilliant idea. Best of all, Sue & Hamid the owners are just so nice it's like staying with friends.

My Mother stayed here from 21 - 25 after a booking fail down the road prior. Over priced however close to the venue she was attending. Note to self > check all accommodation sites and fees before booking with this crowd.

Second time we have been here and you just can’t fault it. Close to everything. I highly recommend the units at the front. Sit and watch the world go buy. Fantastic place. We booked a year in advance, that’s how good it is.
