We spent a wonderful 3 days at Donkey Bay. Location is just fabulous. Architecture and interior design are something that you will not see anywhere else in New Zealand. Eclectic and very much reflects Antonio's love of all things a little different. The staff are just fabulous , so friendly and welcoming and this does make for a very relaxed time. Breakfasts set you up well for the day, it is great. If you want to do something a little different and have a great time Donkey Bay is a must, don't look any further. Everything about Donkey Bay Inn was amazing: The fabulous friendly staff - Amelia, Anita and Tainia, the slightly eccentric and welcoming owner Antonio, the interesting "clitorus" sculpture, the bubble bathtubs overlooking the bay, the walks up to the vines and down to the naturalist beach, the eclectic furnishings...And most wonderful of all is that it is off the grid, with everything eco friendly. What ever I put in this review will not do justice to this place!!! Simply stunning. The decor is sheer luxury, the rooms are extravagant, and the staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast is served overlooking the bay which is beautiful Loved our stay and feel very privileged to have stayed there

From the moment you walk down the yellow tunnel you’re transported to another world. Boutique luxury, breathtaking views and a decor that can not be easily described. Gorgeous hosts and a gregarious owner who made you feel like family. Only 4 rooms each with their own unique flavour. Didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to return.
