Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in this Motel on a quick vist to Nelson. The grounds are over grown and unclean but actually the worst was that this is more of an emergency accomodation place. I was uncomfortable walking through the hotel with some very undesirable people around . Noises and talking of all hours of the night outside woke me up at 4am. Refused to walk through in dark so just left key under mat. Emailed the owners to say how uncomfortable it was and never heard back. If you are looking for a place to relax and stay do not go here diffently not a place to have kids. Actually should bot be able to say its a motel.

Hosts are helpful and friendly. But, if you are requiring peace and quiet, I would not recommend this motel. Some of the units are located by a main road which is 24/7 traffic noise including vibrations of large trucks. The other units are further off the main road which do not have traffic noise But at the time of staying, other guests were loud (either music or shouting and at one point I was verbally abused for asking them to turn their music down a little), there was an onsite security guard who I was able to speak with. Service was ok and rooms were inconsistent with cleanliness and quality. As I say the hosts were friendly and helpful and it was unfortunate I experienced lack of quality time in regards to peace, quiet and safety.

Very clean and comfortable. Welcoming staff and easy parking with reasonable access to units. King sized bed was so good for a great nights sleep. Self contained kitchenette with all that you need for an overnight or extended stay.

My grown up family needed a place to bass ourselves for a long weekend in Nelson We booked 5 rooms of varying size as we ranged from singles to couples with children and every thing in between. Being picked up at the airport was a great bonus. The hosts are more than happy to perform a shuttle service. Our rooms were all large and well maintained. The Motel is a very handy location being close to food and drink outlets.I would be more than happy to return.

I have lived in flats smaller than this unit. It was huge. And it had such homely touches that made it quite hard to leave. I've never stayed in a motel that had a TV, DVD player AND a stereo. There was such a lovely lounge area with sofa and recliner chairs. A roomy dining suite, fully equipped kitchen and good sized bathroom. The shower had the most amazing water pressure I have ever encountered. I felt like I was in front of a water blaster, but boy did I feel great afterward. The large bedroom had a twin spa bath set into a little alcove which was the icing on the cake. Location was fantastic as well. Easy walks to a variety of eateries and the beach. It is on a main thoroughfare but we didn't have any problem with road noise.

Was pleasantly surprised with this place as it was well priced and in a great loaction. We had a fantastic room which had full cooking facilities although we didnt use them.Very comfortable bed but the only negative was that there was a lot of road noise so make sure you book a unit that is not by the main road

We enjoyed our stay here even though the room was not what was advertised. We were put into the Garden part of the Motel which when we first saw it were disappointed however it was great being away from the main road and any noise. The location is wonderful and close to the beach and takeaways (as we had a teenager with us). The master bed was lovely and comfortable however the bed in the lounge is very wobbly and looks unstable. It was though comfortable. It's also great having a full kitchen.

Well the room didn’t match the picture, even paid for an upgrade. If this was an upgrade then I would hate to see the other room, in fact I would have liked to see the room in the picture. Unless of course you like brown and I mean brown from the carpet upwards. Bed was very firm. This motel is on a main drive so not good if you are a light sleeper. I knew it was on the main road when booking so expected the noise. On a positive the room was clean and tidy but could do with some colour. Room fully serviced with cooking facilities.
