We spent 3 nights at this wonderful property, 2 enjoying everything the Crow’s Nest had to offer....large verandah with super comfy seating perfect for enjoying that coffee or Nelson wine while soaking up the sun & view. The bed was amazingly comfy. I absolutely loved the view from the ensuite! The Captain’s Room was smaller but very comfy also with a wonderful large window seat. The view from each bed was stunning! The breakfast was so delicious and different each day, using all local produce. The happy hour was wonderful & we tried lovely local wines & nibbles. Woodi is a super vibrant host and shares so much local knowledge with great suggestions on where to go, eat, swim etc. It was also very interesting to hear her journey with Wakefield Quay House over 30years! Woodi your home is so lovely, your attention to detail awesome! Thank you so much for such a top notch stay.

My recent stay at Wakefield House was amazing! I stayed in the Crows Nest and loved every minute of it. The views from the room were extraordinary! I woke up every morning watching the sunrise from bed and the harbor slowly come to life. The private balcony ended up being my favourite space. The cozy chairs were a great place to hang out read a book and take a short nap after a busy day touring Nelson. The room was beautifully decorated and designed for comfort. Breakfast was 5 star, better than any I have had at other 5 star hotels. Woodi was a fabulous host, sharing knowledge of the area, making reservations, and just delightful to chat with and get to know. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Wakefied House. No other accommodation in Nelson can compare!!! I will be visiting again.!

What an amazing place. A wonderful old villa comprising of two guest bedrooms. Both beautifully appointed, one with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the harbour. The other has a picturesque window seat also taking in the ever changing view of the harbour and boat action. The host Woodi makes this place extra special. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast in the morning is first class and she offers wine and canapés early evening before going out to dinner. Four of us stayed 2 nights and occupied both rooms. It was lovely having it to ourselves. We went out to dinner at the Harbour Light Bistro and The Boatshed. Both were great and just 3 mins walk up the road. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. A fabulous experience. Thank you Woodi. We hope to see you again.

I recently stayed here for 3 nights in the Crows Nest Room. Gorgeous home and the room was lovely...comfy bed, great bathroom overlooking the harbour, awesome balcony! Woodi is a great host and her breakfasts are yummy and change daily. The drinks and nibbles at 6pm are a fantastic added value and a nice way to enjoy the large balcony and get to know Woodi! I loved this place and would definitely return for another stay! Fantastic home and host...thanks for taking care of me Woodi!!

Exceptional location look out over the Ocean. The home was immaculate and beautifully put together with love and care. The hostess Woody was charismatic, entertaining and so knowledgable about where to go and what to see on our trip. By far the best sumptuous breakfast on our trip and always something different each day using quality free-range, home grown ingredients. In the evenings from 6-7pm Woody hosted wine( always from Nelson) and nibbles, and great conversation. Most of all we felt welcomed and very much at home.
