Emailed the hotel prior to arrival so they knew what time our flight got in etc. Lovely welcome when we arrived by the hotel manager.
Stayed in the Daisy Jenner room. Our travel agent made all the booking arrangements and had I known we were in this small room I would perhaps have upgraded to a room with a seating area. However, perfectly suitable for our needs, very quiet with small kitchenette to share between 2 rooms.
The room lacked coat hangers, easily remedied by our friends who went out and bought some for us. We believe most people only stay at this hotel for 2/3 nights and not long stays. We had breakfast one day (continental) perfectly adequate, tasty fresh produce, fruit, yoghurts, toast, jams.
Nick and Jenny are lovely hosts and their staff are amazing. The room was tidied each day to a high standard. Everyone was so friendly. (Thank you for allowing me to use your washing machine).
The walk into Nelson is very easy, 15 minutes stroll along the rivers with very scenic views. Restaurants galore! Shuttle bus in Nelson takes you to tahuna beach ($3 per adult).
We were here for a friends wedding and would loved to have stayed longer and visited more places. We fell in love with NZ.

Warwick house is a beautiful old Nelson property in a picturesque and quiet location not far from the town center and its amenities (and the center of NZ).
The dinning hall was previously a sizable dance room and has large windows overlooking the surroundings, a wonderful view when having breakfast.
Food was excellent, prepared by our hostess, a trained cordon blue cook.
Access to our room was direct from the front garden, and just a few yards from the dinning hall. Room was basic but comfortable and spacious with on-suit facilities. I wish we could have stayed there longer.

Many thanks for the kind review. As our client base have been 95% from overseas, this has been a difficult time. We are only able to offer limited rooms at present but do enjoy hosting appreciative Kiwi guests. Thank you for booking directly with us - that is always much appreciated Kind regards Nick and Jenny

After a very warm and friendly welcome we were shown to our room. We stayed for two nights and I felt our experience would have been better if we had stayed in a different room. We were in one of two rooms on the lower ground floor underneath the breakfast room. The plumbing noise from the next door room was very loud as the occupants showered very late in the evening then at 6 am the following morning water noise from the loo etc woke us up. We could also hear chairs being dragged across the floor upstairs. Coffee and tea making facilities were shared with the other room and were located in the hallway outside, a washing machine was there also but this was out of order.

Hi, Thanks for the comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Very sorry to hear that you had noisy neighbours in the room next door. Your smaller room and the one larger next door to it are frequently used by families or couples traveling together, which is why the kitchenette facilities are shared. We have a plumber coming to look at options regarding the bathroom of the larger suite. There are 7 rooms at Warwick House and this is the only case where a bathroom from 1 suite shares a wall with the bedroom of another room. We will certainly put a sign in that room asking guests to be considerate with using the bathroom during night time. Thank you for letting us know. We hope the rest of your NZ trip is successful. Nick and Jenny Ferrier

We had booked two nights in a couple of suites well in advance for a bit of luxury at the end of our cycle tour. Sadly, we were in for a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a couple of rooms that did not match our expectations. When we questioned this, and showed our confirmed email bookings, it became apparent that that a large oversight had occurred, as the suites originally confirmed were now long term occupancies. We had not been advised of this.
Now, we understand completely the impact that COVID has had on businesses like this and the need for guaranteed cashflow, and sympathise, however the net result of the mismanagement was extreme disappointment for us. The owner apologised profusely, and kindly gave us a bottle of wine, however the standard of the rooms on offer was way below our expectations, and were really only very average motel rooms in an adjoining cottage. We stayed one night as it was too late to make alternative arrangements, and left the next morning.
We accept the response of the owner under the circumstances, but do suggest you thoroughly check before making any booking.

We are very sorry that we were only able to offer you 2 of our smaller (significantly cheaper) rooms at that time. We appreciate you booked very far in advance had requested 2 of our large upstairs suites. This was a clear oversight on our behalf and we apologize again for this. Nick Ferrier, Owner

We stayed for 2 nights. The manager/hostess, Marceliene, couldn’t have been more charming and helpful. She was delightful and welcoming, happy to help with local information. The house itself was quaint and unique, particularly the ‘ballroom’. The breakfast was good and Marceliene provided excellent service. However, for us, our stay was marred by the small bedroom we were given which seemed rather shabby and below standard - a ‘portable’ sized tv positioned on a chest of drawers (why not full size on the wall opposite the bed?), no desk or dressing table, no shelves. The bed was comfortable enough though. The bathroom had no shelves or hooks and the lighting was poor. So overall, we had a very pleasant stay in spite of the room’s shortcomings!

Dear guests, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It was a pleasure hosting you and we're glad you enjoyed our historic house, breakfast and service so much. We're sorry to hear about your experience in the room. It is a standard double room, with a kitchenette and seating area right next to your room. Our suites are more spacious. The 4 shelves in the drawer and 6 hangers are usually enough for most guests, however we would have loved to provide you with more hangers in case that would have been helpful. There are two lights in the bathroom, one above the mirror which might have been overlooked. We love to advise people about the many possibilities in the area and as most guests spend little time watching tv with the beautiful weather here, we have chosen for a smaller flat screen instead of making a tv the main feature of our rooms. We hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Kind regards

We had booked two rooms and were given a wonderful large apartment with two en-suite bedrooms, lounge and kitchen area. The building is amazing, full of charm and character. The manager/cook was wonderful, suggesting places to visit and eat, and provided an excellent breakfast in the grand ballroom. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

We stayed for two nights in this fantastic old house with a lot of atmosphere from the old Victorian days.
Marceliene gave us a very warm welcome and helped us in her professional and efficient way to correct our wrong booked tour. Took her some time with many phone calls which we apreciated a lot. Thank you Marceliene!

Enjoyed two wonderful evenings at Warwick House. Very quaint and comfortable room. Felt like a castle staying in the tower. Excellent breakfast in the dining room. Hostess, Marcelene was so warm and welcoming. Also provided us with a lot of information about the house, area and drive; including confirmations with our tours booked. Highly recommend this great house, room and exceptional host.

Mid 1800s house with later additions decorated and furnished in keeping. Car parking. Manager/Receptionist/cook/waitress/travel guide is a very helpful lady! Nothing is too much trouble and she is a mine of information and suggestions for visits. Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay.
