Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for three nights on a side trip from Wellington and we were very impressed by the cleanliness of the accommodation, and the fact that the TV worked properly. Staff were very friendly and we had everything we needed and more. It's a pity this motel will be closing soon.

The motel is in a good location within walking distance to the city. It has a minimart close by and some takeaway shops.
We were in a two bedroom unit with a queen bedroom. The other bedroom had two singles. The kitchen was small, but had full cooking facilities.
The host was very nice and nothing was too much trouble for him!
If you want glitz and glamour then this isn't the place for you. If you want clean, comfortable and quiet then stay here!

$145 for a 1970's renovation, that is well, average.
Advantages near town, and easy to get to.
Disadvantages.
Try stretching your neck from the impossible TV positions.
Watch if you get there early they don't tell you all the studios are booked and you have to take three rooms.
Why do we have to pay extra for Internet [ which being Zenbu didn't work] when the local coffee bar gives it for free.
Lighting bad. Furnishings good. Ambience bad.
Far too expensive for what it is.

What a fantastic little motel!! CLEAN and SPOTLESS, the owners could not do enough to help and the rates are very resonable compared with a lot of others in Nelson,
Close to town, on a main road , yet, remarkably quiet and restful. We ended up staying a few more days than planned just for the rest.

Great spot.

My family stayed here two nights. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a van and it was a bit tight parking by our room. It was in a good location not too far a drive to town. We ate at the next door hotel restaurant which was very good. There was a rugby match in town and it was very busy the first day we were there.

Three friends shared a two bedroom, one bath unit with kitchen for one night. The suite was very large, almost too big for what we needed. It would be great for longer visits as cooking would be very easy in the unit. The room was clean well-appointed, and staff helpful and friendly. Wifi was free but limited (as seems to be typical of NZ hotels). I would definitely recommend.

We were in Nelson for our nieces graduation ceremony & chose this motel to stay because it was close to the city. We were able to walk into the city in just under 15 minutes and it was very easy going & mostly fat. There is a nice pub just across the road where we ate twice. The owners of the motel were very friendly and the units although a little dated were very clean & comfortable and had a fully equipped kitchenette if you want to do your own catering. We would defiantly stay here again & would have no hesitation in recommending this to others.

The unit available was quite spacious but we had booked a 1 bedroomed unit and this was obviously a 2 bedroom unit but as we had only booked a 1 bedroomed unit the door to the other room was locked! Everything was very clean and there was everything we needed. Everything was a little old fashioned but functional and clean. On the outskirts of town but not a problem.
