This apartment is modern and well furnished. It comprises a roomy sitting-room/well equipped kitchen and separate shower-room. There is also on site parking. it fulfils all that one needs for a short stay. Although slightly outside the centre of Nelson it is within easy reach of shops and restaurants.

My wife and I spent two nights at The Sails. It was excellent.
We were warmly greeted by the hosts, who also arranged for us to get a cab for dinner the first night. They also can provide breakfast on request, the first of which they delivered early as we had to head off to Abel Tasman for a kayaking adventure. They also provided helpful dinner recommendations for our second night.
The room was lovely and well-equipped. At first we thought it might be noisy as it's on a busy street, but that was not a factor.
They're also nicely located, just a fifteen minute easy walk to downtown.
We had just minor quibbles. Parking is tight, but we've discovered that's typical for NZ accommodations. Also, it would have been helpful to have had paper towels or a dish towel in the kitchen area.
Nonetheless, it was a wonderful place to stay.

A wonderful experience staying at The Sails at Nelson. Our stay was made even better by Cherie and Mike the hosts. They were so friendly and helpful. The cooked to order breakfast delivered to the room was a real treat
The room itself was light and airy and finished to a high standard. The kitchenette area was very well equipped and even included a dishwasher! The whole place was spotlessly clean.
An easy 5-10 minute walk into town for a wide range of restaurants.
We can’t fault The Sails at Nelson and fully recommend it.
Thank you again to Cherie and Dave for a wonderful experience.

Just a few minutes 👣 from the city center, this modern, well-maintained structure also has outdoor parking. Kind of the owners and attention to the customer. We stayed for 2 nights to our full satisfaction. Well-kept, modern rooms - cleanliness 🔝 and air conditioning in the room. Large bathroom; room is tidied up daily. The property also has a washer/dryer for guests. Simply RECOMMENDABLE 👍

We stayed at The Sails Nelson for a couple of nights in May and were incredibly impressed with our studio room. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with crockery, glasses, pots, pans and utensils, a microwave, hob and dishwasher. The bed was very comfortable and the linen and towels were top quality. The Smart TV was one of the biggest we’ve seen in a hotel, a great addition! There is also a laundry on site and plenty of brochures on places to see and things to do.
Heather and her husband, the managers, were sociable and friendly and gave us a few tips and suggestions for our trip further north.
This hotel is well situated for walking into town and is impeccably maintained. We shall certainly use it again. Apparently the owner has 3 other hotels but we forgot to ask where they were as we would definitely stay in them .

We received a lovely warm welcome and Heather gave us lots of tips for things to do in the area. Room 105 was lovely, very clean and spacious. It had a wide variety of teas and coffees and everything one needed for a pleasant stay. Sails is a very short walk into town and there were plenty of car parking spaces. We did our washing at $4 each for the washer and dryer. My only constructive notes are that we had a wonderful spa bath but the towels were only bath towels (not bath sheets) and were not very luxurious. The weather was bad when we were there so we couldn’t eat breakfast outside and there wasn’t anywhere to eat at a table or the bench inside so we had to balance our cereal bowls on our knee. There was some traffic noise from the road next to our room especially early in the morning. Having said that I would recommend Sails in the future.

I read them but rarely review anything. , however these rooms were so spacious, modern, nicely appointed & beautiful that I feel its wrong to stay silent.

The overall experience was extraordinary with all the extra help, advice & care from the couple who own/manage it. Their suggestions led to great outings through Gentile Cycle & Kiwi Adventures & SeaShuttle’s coordinated bus pickup to boat to Abel Tasman National Park made for seamless transfers. I was traveling solo so didn’t rent a car to drive & park at Kaiteriteri or Motueka or Collingwood where the boats operators for drops in Able Tasman leave from.

The sheet linens & bedding were extra fine. Everything you could want to cook with was in the nice, new, modern kitchen sideboard area. There was Nespresso machine & pods as well as coffee & a press coffee pot. A/c, windows that open & beautiful shutters on windows as well as blackout curtain in the large living room area. Huge screen TV in both rooms (I didnt watch anything). A really nice big bathroom with a beautiful tiled shower & quality fixtures.
Lots of closets, cabinet space & bench for luggage & floor space for yoga.

Bravo to the property!

My 4 night stay was great.
