My friend and I chose Prince Albert because of the great reviews about service, and were surprised to have a very different experience. We found the owner was incredibly rude towards us. When we arrived mid-morning the owner seemed a bit grumpy and tired, and not very keen to interact with us. When we returned early eve to move into...

I spent one week in a double room and really enjoyed my stay! The staff is very friendly, the food is excellent, it's very close to the center but quiet, has a laundry, kitchen, wifi, barbecue, bikes - everything you could possibly need, even waffles for breakfast :-)

We were four friends travelling and we got an ensuite room for us. It was really clean and comfy. We were really wellcomed by the owner and he was all the time worried if everything was ok with us. The breakfast was really nice and organised. I will definetely recommend this place for other friends.

Spent three nights in private room. Friendly welcome on arrival by the owner who also suggested a few things that we could do whilst in Nelson. This was very helpful as neither my partner or I had been before. Good free breakfast and good deals on food and drink available in bar downstairs. Excellent location for walking into town. Would...

The hostel is close to the town centre, but still quite peaceful. The rooms are large and clean, with comfy beds. The backpackers has seperate areas, outdoor and indoor, for guests. The breakfast was plentiful, and the deals for the pub meals and drink was generous. A great place to meet people and explore Nelson.

The people is a pub onsite with cheap drinks and cheap food, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were sturdy and comfortable (to many hostels have I thought the bed was going...

Fabulous. As well as the backpackers $10 special for dinner there is a good selection of meals if youre hungrier. And...

We had a great two night stay at Prince Albert. Reasonable rates, lovely clean rooms/kitchen, comfy beds and communal area and dead nice staff. Sad we couldn't stay for longer! If you're looking for a lovely base for exploring Nelson/Abel Tasman, definitely check these guys out. My favourite backpacker's in NZ so far.

Not uncommon to find backpackers who just keep on extending their stay! A very homely vibe ran by an awesome young couple with a tonne of travel and industry experience. The accommodation is attached to a decent gastro pub serving local beers and quality food, with discounted rates on food and drinks for resident backpackers. Well situated in Nelson and...
