Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In short, give it a miss. The photos of this place totally misrepresent the property. It is an extremely tired, old-style motel right on a busy and noisy main road with single glazing. Think 1980s style NZ motels you would pay 100 bucks a night for. Which brings me to my next negative on this place, we were charged $752 for two nights. For that we were expecting a level of accommodation implied by the photos. As it stands, even 1980s prices might be too much. It was so bad we didn't even bother staying, and went and booked in elsewhere.

Clean, practical accommodation and reasonably located for the beach area of Nelson. However, you won’t want to stay long. Motel is tired, in need of a refurb and located alongside a busy main road so very noisy with a constant hum of traffic. We liked the idea of a balcony but it looked out onto an internal courtyard with no view as very large tree protruding. Ran out of hot water on the morning before checking out.

A clean, tidy unit with everything we needed supplied. Spacious bathroom with fabulous shower. Laundry available. Kind, cheerful staff. Close to great eateries, the beach and the city itself. Highly recommend this motel.

Attempting to check in when the property Network Interface was not connected, causing our Card Transactions to decline, was an all to accurate fore-taste of things yet to come. The property owners (Paul and Adele, nominally) had seen fit to 'bugger off' for the holidays, leaving poor Gail (a friend, apparently) to look after everything in their absence. Poor Gail managed to get the Network running, but the room WiFi didn't work. She fixed this, bless her. Then, the Spa bath !! It was filthy and didn't work and remained so for the duration of our 3 night stay, despite the cleaners giving the bath a good clean the next day. My advice ? Stay WELL CLEAR of this poorly maintained and poorly managed property. And, by the way. The outdoor furniture was just shoddy white iron table and chairs, in no way, resembling that in the published photograph.

A 4 night stay in a lovely apartment, spotlessly clean, tidy and modern. Off street parking right outside our door, a really comfortable bed and pillows, great shower and a handy well equipped kitchenette, outside private patio with chairs and table. Daily room service. Our hosts Paul and Adela were very welcoming and accommodating. Walking distance to the beach and very close to many shops bars and restaurants, a lovely area to spend some in, we were very happy with finding Tuscany Gardens Motor Lodge and would highly recommend this place to any visitors to Nelson. “ Thanks for a great stay “

Right next to the Tahananui beach and park and a 10 minute drive from Nelson, this accommodation was a great find for two nights. Rooms have generous proportions, beautifully appointed and comfy facilities, clean and tidy with a nice balcony and warmed by the setting sun. Close walking distance to Tahunanui Beach. It is on a busy road but with double glazing that was not an issue.

Our flight on 9 August 2021 was cancelled. We spent the night at Tuscany Gardens and continued to Wellington the next day. The place was spotless and the gardens and outlook pleasing. We were blown away by the kindness of the owners of this motel. They were warm and welcoming and even loaned my husband a jacket to walk to the restaurant they recommended . To add to our delight, the driver who drove us to the Motel took our frozen food home and stored it in his freezer overnight!

A traditional motel, bringing back memories of childhood holiday trips. The key to a great motel is a great operator, and the friendly personal service of the hosts is really appreciated. Clean and tidy with a nice balcony and warmed by the setting sun. Close walking distance to Tahunanui Beach and park. The busy road didn't bother us.
