Carol and David were very good hosts, and we really enjoyed our stay at the Cambria House. It was an older charming home, but the room was fairly basic. I did find our bathroom to be very spacious and nice though. Breakfast was always yummy, and the hosts had a great deal of knowledge and recommendations for our stay there. The location was not within walking distance of the downtown area, so we did drive everywhere we went.
Had a great room in this warm and friendly inn. Comfortable bed and bath. Yummy chocolates in the room as well as tea. Located a five minute walk from Nelson which was nice. Easy area to walk around in-no need to get back in your car when you are at this quaint inn.
Not the grade of accommodation we were expecting. The place is clean enough, but the room is small and basic, with few extra amenities. It isn't particularly close to town, so that means a drive to get something to eat. I felt the hosts were a bit out of their depth.
This is a fantastic bed and breakfast in Nelson New Zealand. It is run by David and Karel (Carol) who are 2 really nice people with extensive knowledge and advice of the region. The rooms are extremely comfortable and are fully equipped with even little luxuries like chocolates and a schooner of Port. Both topped up each day or the Port when empty. Breakfast is communal but this adds to the ambiance of the house. We are glad the our travel agent found this little gem for us. It is only a ten minute walk into the centre but there is a wonderful bar nearby called the Sprig and Fern on Milton Street. Thank you David and Karel for you hospitality. Robert and Elizabeth
Karel & David were such delightful hosts and welcomed us by flying the Canadian flag which was a classy touch. We stayed there before and after our Abel Tasman trip and were able to leave our excess luggage with them while hiking. Small duffel bags were waiting for us to take and transfers picked us up and dropped us off at the front door. Well appointed, generous sized rooms, delicious breakfast & friendly international visitors to interact with. Great spot.
