Such a wonderful place to stay while in Nelson. Close enough to the city yet far enough away. Sarah made us feel welcome our whole weekend, from the moment we arrived. Accommodation was luxurious and the service was outstanding. Complimentary baking, fruit, wine and port made it even more special. Can't wait to go back!

This was an ideal place for a weekend getaway. The pictures you see are exactly what you get, luxury. Yummy food supplies and an amazing setting. Convenient location for town yet it felt like you weren't in town.

We stayed at Pihopa Retreat as part of a weekend away exploring Nelson and the Abel Tasman. What a treat to stay here - beautiful surroundings, special touches with beautiful linen and breakfast supplies, wonderful bathroom and THE most comfortable beds ever! It was such treat coming back after walking the Abel Tasman to luxuriate in lovely, deep bath and we slept blissfully in what was the best bed I've ever come across. Peaceful, park like setting, we enjoyed breakfast and coffee on the verandah. We have recommended Pihopa Retreat to all our friends and will definitely be back again.

This was a wonderful weekend from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Our accommodation was luxurious, everything we needed to make our stay outstanding was included… beautiful linen enveloping towels… and the extras… a welcoming bottle of wine, whiskey or port for a bedtime sip. The fact that we rebooked for our next weekend away must say it all! Thank you Sarah, so much! Oops I didn’t mention the continental breakfast supplied which included Pihopa’s own honey and, in my view New Zealand’s best sore dough

I was in Nelson on a ‘sentimental journey’, re-visiting old haunts and old friends. I’d heard of Pihopa Retreat from a family member; it seemed perfect, in terms of location and facilities, for what I was planning . And so it proved to be: only a few minutes from the city centre, and yet absolutely peaceful and private. The Retreat is a row of villas, each containing two suites. Mine was superbly and sumptuously presented; I wanted for nothing. And there was a bonus: a view from the deck of the acres of gardens surrounding Pihopa, and, in the distance, Tasman Bay itself.
