Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is regarding the situation with Lisa, my mother. The hotel is also lying about pressing charges against her on google maps reviews, has attacked her likeness, attacked her physically, and left her feeling anxious and embarrassed. The police and lawyers have said to take it to court and/or leave bad reviews, and that's what we're doing. Can't fight with the truth.

More from the Beaver Softball group from Christchurch. If anyone is reading this and can provide the contact details for those making these derogatory and defamatory statements it would be greatly appreciated.....just email us on the website address. We encourage you to continue with this manner of derogatory and defamatory writing as it helps us build our case for defamation which we are very serious about taking against you and others associated with these people. What we don't have at this time is the contact details of those making derogatory and untrue statements on social media platforms. The Police have some and are checking to see if they can be released to us ....you might want to do that yourself so you can see if we are "lying" as you so glibly state. We have a good reputation to protect and will do so at any cost so your choice....we can do this the easy way or the hard way.

The worst experience I have ever had in my 35+ years of travelling and staying in hotels. Physically assaulted by angry wife of management and completely humiliated by the absolute bully of an owner. Evicted me without warning and denied me of retrieving my personal belongings, or even being able to use the toilet before marching me out to the road in my pajamas and nothing else. The owner then took my photo without my permission and proceeded to humiliate me more by showing everyone my face on his phone. Their behaviour is disgusting and I wouldn't wish my experience on anyone else. Perhaps you need to chain up the Rottweiler after a certain time of night.

Consequences of your actions are not something you are used to.....we are pleased you are advising the world that you behaved badly and assaulted staff. We are proud of the fact we took a stand against bad behavior and we can promise future guests they will feel safe here when people like you are not welcome and will get evicted if they cause a disturbance. Can you please provide an email address, and contact details so we can begin a civil case for defamation against you and your cohorts that you are recruiting to post derogatory reviews. We know your name is Lisa Foot and are associated with the Beaver Softball group from Christchurch. If anyone is reading this and can provide those details for us it would be greatly appreciated. What you do not realise is that to defend a civil case of defamation in the High Court the starting cost is circa $20,000 and is simply a business expense for us .....I doubt very much if you could claim costs of a similar magnitude to defend a case brought by us.....we are not bluffing.

This is a terrific hotel of a very high standard, even though its location feels very industrial. Our room was huge, with a king and single bed, and comfortable chairs. The bathroom was beautifully presented, with a very large shower. If you stay here, you need a car to get about. It's located about 15 minutes from the CBD of Nelson and 10 minutes from shops and restaurants around Richmond. There is a cafe attached to a peanut butter factory next door, but otherwise there are no shops within walking distance. Across the road is Saxton Field, a massive sporting complex of ovals and stadiums, which is nice to walk around, however the surrounds are full of warehouses and big box stores. The hotel is on a roundabout, with a very busy road alongside that creates a lot of noise, especially in the morning. The windows are quite effective in blocking much of the noise and the curtains were good in preventing the bright street lights from disturbing our sleep. The hosts Dion and Alexandra were attentive and friendly. I enjoyed meeting and talking with them. A few of the guests were not too considerate by banging doors and thumping around their floors, but you get that in the best of hotels. There was a large group of construction workers staying whose early starts were a bit disturbing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and even though it's a bit out of the way for getting to and from the CBD of Nelson, we recommend it.

We recently attended a wedding in Nelson and where recommended the Saxton Lodge. We have nothing but praise for Dion and his team. The rooms were very spacious, bathrooms clean and tidy, and beds thankfully very comfortable. Close to airport it was breeze getting in and out as was the proximity to our venue. We are definitely going back!

On out 3 weeks' holiday, staying in hotels and motels, this was our most comfortable and relaxed stay! The moment I stepped inside the room, I felt relaxed and well – ready to explore what the area had to offer. The beds were great, the food was excellent, the staff wonderful service minded – everything just worked! Will definitely go there again ... can give nothing but my best recommendations.

Great central location (close to Saxton Stadium and Bunnings), we thoroughly recommend staying at the Saxton Lodge Motel as a base in Nelson. Facilities including laundry and kitchen were easily accessible. The in-house menu options catered for those times we needed to dine in. The lamb shanks and accompanying vegetables were excellent. The housekeeping staff were all friendly and considerate. A big thank you to Dion and Alexandra for looking after us during our 7 night stay.

We stopped at the Saxton Lodge, and what a stay it was. Nice area to stay at, good scenery with the mountains in the distance. Friendly down to earth staff, comfy beds, loads of channels to watch tv. Like being in your own living room. Everyone at the Saxton lodge, makes you feel welcome. I needed help in using the washing machine, and German lady at reception helped me out a lot in using the washing machine at the laundry section. My grandad needed a lock cut to open the suit case, and an adapter to shave, and they had the time to help and solve the problem. An absolutely fantastic place to stay, well recommended, and well looked after. Definitely the best place to stop in Nelson. 10/10, 100/100, 1,000/1,000. Its a damn good place
