It covers 54 acres of parkland that has been available for almost nine decades for holidaymakers to enjoy. Today Tahuna Beach Holiday Park offers accommodation that suits every holidaymaker and traveller’s budget – from unpowered campsites to cosy cabins to modern, fully self-contained apartment motel units. The holiday park’s location gives you direct access to the beach, playing fields and local beachside attractions. On site there are several recreation areas, including beach volleyball court, basketball court, several playgrounds, an 18 hole mini golf course and an outdoor amphitheatre for live music and other events. Tahuna Beach Holiday Park also has its very own function centre for corporate and community functions as well as weddings and private parties. Stayed one night with 6 birth RV on grassed powered spot in Oct 2023. First off, this site is huge. The largest we stayed on in 15 days of touring South Island. That said, the facilities are clean and all work as they should. Worth noting some facility blocks are locked up in quieter times. Wifi was supplied It is right on Tahunanui Beach which is a real bonus. Take a walk out and it is huge and beautiful in a rugged desolate way. Huge driftwood scatters the sand. The sea was dramatic the day we went and all the better for it. We had a space overlooking it and it was a joy to wake up to. Check in was easy and the map very clear. Worth noting this as it is like entering a small village. If you are staying in Nelson then you could do a lot worse.

Great location just outside Nelson. Access to the very nice beach via gate. Easy walk to bars, cafes and restaurants. Good facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. A bit noisy due to planes from airport but they did stop at night. Noisier than some campsites from fellow campers as more open arrangement.

Staff are friendly and quick to accommodate your needs. Campsite is immaculate with super amenities. Security ensures you and your family/friends are safe. Cannot rate this place high enough and look forward to returning one day.

Scenic, peaceful, dog friendly. Awesome beach, friendly staff. Close to airport so noise from planes through the day, but I did not find it intrusive. Our dog loved his 3 times per day walk and play on beach, met some lovely locals

Excellent camp, very good clean showers and toilets. Very quiet- just heard the sea. Excellent value for money. One of the best camps in the country!! Very friendly staff. Used powered site in green zone.

Overall not a bad campsite, its a nice big site and the pitches themselves were really nice and spacious. On the other hand, in the morning the showers were being cleaned at 9:15am when check out is at 10am. The other shower block which was a little walk away was locked and there was only the disabled toilet available. Me and my partner were not able to have a shower due to this. We were not the only ones, there was another couple who had not been able to shower which for me, is the reason you pay to go on a campsite - the hot showers. Furthermore, I went to put some rubbish in the bin and asked the cleaning lady if I could wash my hands, she was pretty rude (you might have thought I had asked her to move a mountain) she very reluctantly allowed me to wash my hands. Which realistically I don’t think is a big deal. For the price you pay in comparison to other sites, you expect a high level of customer service. Or just a basic service really which I didn’t feel like we got. If I’m being picky, again for the price of the site, the WiFi allowance is pretty low. 500mb per day in comparison to other sites that giving us 3gb per day and we were paying less for these sites. …

Hello - thank you so much for taking the time to give us such considered feedback - this really is appreciated as it helps us stay on point. It is, however, regrettable that your stay did not leave you with a good impression of our Park. As far as the block cleaning times, it would appear that a misinterpretation of protocols has let us all down, as cleaning of the blocks is supposed to commence around 10am, for exactly the reasons you outline. We can only apologise for this situation. In addition, we apolgise for the poor attitude you encountered from one of our team members. Our whole reason for being is to give our guests a welcoming and enjoyable experience and regrettably we fell short of this for you. With regards to the Wi-fi, we are currently upgrading the service so we may have better coverage and potentially more free capacity for each guest in the near future. We wish you all the best with future travel adventures. We hope we might get the opportunity to host you again in the future and create a better impression.

A huge site. Shower block locked up although shower / toilet combo available in the block. Site a long way out of Nelson & very big so a way to entrance / exit too. On a very beautiful tidal beach though - great for walking & sunsets

I was very impressed with the camp sites, and also being in February after school holidays, it was not as busy as it would have been, earlier on. Great amenities and lovely, welcoming receptionists. I also found that the location was good as well I have actually returned for another 5 days before heading off down the coast.
