Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful experience...fabulous spot...we booked a powered site in our wee caravan with our 2 small dogs. The bathroom in the lodge for campers was really good. Shower brilliant. Hot tubs there to use but we didn't do that this time. Lots of area to walk the dogs. The beach at the end of the driveway. Short drive to Oamaru for coffee and shopping. Grant (owner)was great to deal with..we will be back!

What a great place for a stayover. WE booked a 1 night powered site for our RV PLUS a Hot Tub. IT was beautiful. LOvely site overlooking a river and waterfall - very close to beach and Pacific ocean. Immaculate presentation - great bathroom/shower facility (although only 1 for RV's). And the hot tub was excellent. Fresh, hot water, plus chilled drinking water and glassed supplied. Cant speak too highly of this wee spot close to Oamaru, yet felt like it was in the wilderness.

Visited here only to use the hot tubs, so can’t comment on the accommodation (although what we saw of it looked good). They have gas heated tubs (similar to the Omarama hot tubs), dotted over the seaside property and some have sea views. We had a lovely soak in these, the cool day made them extra cosy. Staff here were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend visiting here for the hot tubs when in Oamaru!

amazing owners, very helpful! We left our washing on the line when we left for a wedding, it ended up raining that day and when we got home not only was our washing off the line and dried, they had also lit the fire in the lodge which was extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend it! Also, the lodge itself is a great place for families with the many rooms, the lounging area, eating area, a barbeque, and an outside eating area.

Stayed here with a group for a weekend retreat. Reception was frosty to say the least. Late departure had been arranged for 11am instead of 10am. Owner arrived right on 10am and started cleaning amidst our group. So rude. We paid very good money and I feel we were badly treated in this manner. No wonder it is on the market if this is hospitity. How NOT to get repeat business.

Late arrival was no problem after a quick phone call. It was great to arrive to a going fire. Beds are comfie and warm. Bathroom and kitchen are spotless. Loved the sound of the waves at night. We will be back!

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. It is run by a very friendly nice lady who is helpful and caring about her guests. The room, kitchen and bathroom were perfectly clean and we'll maintained. The bed is comfortable and the lounge room is a good place to relax. The beautiful beach is just across the road (not much traffic at all). It is about 5 mins by car into town.

Lovely lodge right across the road from the ocean. Clean and tidy. Gloria made the check in easy and lit the fire for us. Gloria offered some tips for seeing the penguins at the Penguin Colony, which I would recommend seeing. Comfortable bed with lot of cozy bedding.

Fall asleep and wake up to the sound of crashing waves. Watch the ocean, the river or the countryside. Snuggle on your choice of couch in front of the wood-burner (and fully stacked wood basket). Sleep on the crispest of cotton sheets and cook in the well-stocked kitchen. find out what's happening locally from the friendly host and then treat yourself to a hot tub under the stars. Personally filled just for you, plastic champagne flutes and privacy from the world. BLISS.
