What an awesome accommodation venue. It was so big, warm, spotless and comfortable. It was so good to have space to spread out. It is well located And so well priced. Don't want too many people to know about it so we can get a room when we want.

What a great little gold mine of a place to stay. The room was at the back facing a sweet little garden. The room was clean and well furnished. As stated in an earlier review.

A lovely place to stay. The host was great with giving us information on places to go and eat.

Immaculate accommodation in the garden of a stunning house that has been a cafe. Lovely folk gave us a fabulous welcome and shared loads of information about how to get around Oamaru. And what a fantastic town it is. We loved the steam punk HQ etc

We stayed 2 nights and the accommodation was very comfortable and the garden is delightful. The unit included comfy bed in seperate room. Sitting room with extra single bed,TV.lounge chairs and table and 3 chairs. The little kitchen was fine to prepare a basic meal and it and the bathroom had been recently refurbished. The original art Deco atmosphere has been maintained. It was quiet and comfy. We'd stay again if passing through this area.

It's not often that you find a pet friendly motel that has such a high standard of presentation. Our mature dog travels everywhere with us and we were all happily accommodated here by the hosts. Scrupulously clean - this motel has one of the highest standards of cleanliness we have ever encountered

From the moment you walk into the fully enclosed cottage garden setting of these delightful units (there are just four of them) you realise you have stumbled onto an absolute gem. The flats have been fully modernised with tasteful colours that don't detract from its Art Deco styling so that every appliance is user friendly and well arranged. Wonderful shower and bathroom, quality and well equipped compact kitchen and super comfortable queen bed in its own separate bedroom plus a single in the lounge/dining area. Good size TV well set on its own unit at a comfortable height, Good size sturdy dining table and chairs for three. In addition Free unlimited Wi-Fi. Windows double glazed to cut out traffic noise although this is mostly shielded by the two storey café and managers accommodation in front. We intended to stay just one night but couldn't bear to leave the next morning and so stayed on for a second night. At just $90/night you couldn't do better.

If we ever visit Oamaru again there is only one place we would want to stay and this is it.

Hidden behind Cafe 469 on the main highway in Oamaru are 3 motel units. They are little homes that one could quite easily live in and face out onto a lovely garden. The architecture and etched glass are reminders of the Art Deco period of design. The Cafe owners are very helpful and if you are in need of a meal, they can feed you and do it well.
The Cafe in front acts as a good sound barrier to the highway noise.

We chose this motel based on its economic price so was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely cosy unit perfect for our needs overnight. The outdoor area is lovely though we weren't there long enough to make use of it.

I have stayed here twice now and both times have been wonderful. The people are lovely and the rooms are always set to a high standard. The rooms are private and away from the main road which I love. Will always stay here whenever I come to Oamaru :-)
