Ann is a wonderful, friendly, helpful (travel tips-directions) host. Her breakfast was lovely, homemade and substantial- very tasty muesli and bread. She accommodated for vegans. Wish we could have stayed longer! Separate studio apartment was comfortable and well decorated. It is located near Moeraki Boulders and a beach for possible viewing of seals and penguins. We HIGHLY recommend Happy Valley!

A lovely separate room, usable kitchenette, reasonable (if cosy) bathroom, very comfortable bed, Wi-Fi and cable channels were as hoped for. What made it special were the beautiful setting, peace and quiet, rural ambience and most of all, the delightful hosts, Ann and Lindsay. Great taste of the real NZ.

This is an excellent place to stay. The room was large and spotless with a very comfortable bed and a fantastic shower. Toiletries are provided together with a small kitchenette for having breakfast We asked to have the meal of bbq roast leg of lamb with fresh vegetables from the vgarden and pavlova with raspberries from the garden. Delicious. Breakfast ordered the night before was equally good. Lindsay and Ann are a delightful couple.

An extremely comfortable stay, everything we needed. Ann and Lindsay have a huge knowledge about the local area. With hindsight we would have stayed longer. We felt "at home". The electric blanket was most welcome as the weather was cold and damp.

We are pleased you enjoyed your time at Happy Valley B&B, and yes, there is lots of interest to see in this area. Last Tuesday evening we went up to Lake Waitaki and visited with our nephew for tea, who was camped at Lake Waitaki, just below the Aivemore Dam. Freshly caught barbequed rainbow trout was on the menu. Looking forward to having you stay again. Hope your winter isn't too severe. Best Regards, Ann & Lindsay

Had a lovely relaxing time at Happy Valley B & B. It was like an overnight stay with family. Anne and Lindsey are such lovely hosts. We decided to just stay in and we had a lovely meal of homemade tomato soup and warm rolls. The bed was super comfy and brekky was soooo delicious. We hope to come back this way and would definitely stay here again. A lovely friendly and relaxing experience. Thanks Anne and Lindsey 🙂

We spent one night at the Happy Valley B & B and wish we could have stayed longer. Ann and Lindsay are very warm and welcoming and our unit was perfect - lovely decor, extremely clean and lots of nice touches such as the home baking. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great night sleep. Breakfast was excellent - especially the home made jam.Overall one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended.

Lindsay and Ann are great hosts to guests at their quaint B&B in tranquil Happy Valley, Herbert, just the right distance from busy Oamaru. We enjoyed an excellent home cooked dinner at the outside table in the lovely gardens of this very peaceful rural pasture setting. Clean comfortable room in this B&B with genuinely pleasant characteristics; not the least being the lovely Owners.

Thanks Chris & Evelyn for staying at Happy Valley B&B and placing thgis review. It was a real pleasure having you stay. We enjoyed the time chatting with you, talking family, dogs, fishing, guns and cars. You really did choose the right time to visit Otago / Southland for your fishing excursion, as it has been real wet in the last 2 weeks. Might catch up with you again one day, Kind Regards Ann & Lindsay

Everything was a delight to our senses, from the warm welcome with Bella, their gorgeous dog to the home cooked and surprisingly home grown produce also. Ann and Lindsay must have been so exhausted sharing information about cooking and farming in NZ ... so warm and accommodating ... The Chiropractic Mattress and choice of pillows blew us away - so much so we've purchased a new mattress upon returning to Australia ... I loved how the B&B (2 rooms) were separate from the main house ... when you first open the doors - it's like WOW ... this luxury set away from the Oamaru town? ... The decor soooo delightfully stylish and the linen was of such quality ... oh I gush too much .... They also took the time to show us around a local attraction: RiverStone Kitchen - where their vegetable gardens were very inspiring but the CASTLE that is still being built was mind boggling lol - pointing out many features and history along the way ... We were very lucky to find this B&B and thanked them profusely for their kind hospitality ... we would definitely go back again and highly recommend them ... well worth it and Hubby even got to help SHOO the baby calves from one paddock to the other .. woohooo - highlight of his trip hehehe !!!
