This modern hotel fits into the surrounding Heritage area of Oamaru so well with its design and views. The rooms are beautifully decorated with blackout curtains, an efficient heating system, top quality beds and bedding. Bathrooms are small but perfectly adequate and the showers are top quality with instant heat choice. Wifi is fast and there are comfy chairs to view the nearby harbour and sea. Some of the rooms have balconies with chairs to enjoy the fresh sea air. The kitchenettes are there for what ever is needed. Heating up some delicious foods bought locally as in the Riverstone Larder just down the road. Free parking.

We arrived on a lovely hot day. Walking to the room it reminded us of a tropical Cairns apartment. The inside white shutters on the windows with the huge windows with balcony overlooking the old town and looking out at the waterfront. It was all such a lovely surprise. The decor was beautiful and everything so comfortable. ( bed and lounge chairs) so nice to not have to sit on a bed to watch tv. AND the shower. WOW the best. Good value for money, and for us just an hour from home. But a very relaxed two days Also a big plus, as far as location, we were able to just wander down the road in the evening to see heaps of wee blue penguins coming in. And two great restaurants in walking distance. ( there are probably more)

I have stayed at the Mariner Suites on many occasions and it is always the same great stay. Comfy beds, great showers, great location and very friendly staff who make the effort to make you feel welcome. I will continue to stay at Mariner for my future visits to Oamaru and would definitely recommend to anyone after a pleasant experience in a very modern motel.

The Mariner Suites are a credit to the owners. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The bathrooms are very well designed with the toiletry accessories being all NZ made. The staff were so welcoming and if we needed anything it wasn’t a problem! The views over the harbour are lovely! A true gem in Oamaru accommodation.

We have stayed here multiple times and it's always a great experience. Fantastic location, large quality rooms, lots of usb ports to charge up your devices, very convenient to the historic part of town and penguin colony. You can easily walk to both. Spacious shower with good water pressure. Beds are super comfortable and the curtains do a great job blocking the light out at night. Love the views. Beautiful sunrise from the room. Great hosts. The only hotel we've stayed in New Zealand that's remembered us. Very professional.

This is just new and everything is top quality here. Our unit was on the corner and had an easterly look over the Harbour but outside on the balcony you could see right over to the Historic part of Oamaru town, the unusual children's playground and out to the Harbour itself. Bed was expectedly comfortable and bed linen top quality. There was a lovely rug over the bed. Bathroom was small but beautifully designed with no shower curtain needed. A small kitchenette had enough to enjoy whatever you could choose to bring. We went to the Riverstone Larder earlier to buy the most delicious chicken and avocado focaccia. Quiet with double glazing and warm with an efficient heater. Wifi was fast and free. Our hostess was most friendly and wanted to make our stay memorable which she did!

We enjoyed our stay at the Mariner Suites. Our second floor Prestige Suite was exceeding spacious and comfortable. The king size bed came with pristine sheets and pillows. This hotel is clean and modern with fresh carpeting. The owners were very generous with helpful recommendations for restaurants and things to do in town and sightseeing in the region. Our suite came with a well appointed kitchenette and spacious bathroom. The nightly rental rate is very reasonable for a modern accommodation of this standard.

Decided to stay in Oamaru for something different. The location of the hotels is great with it being close to the heritage area down by the beach area. There is also a brewery/eatery along with the steampunk museum and penguin colony located very close. Hotel staff were very helpful and the hotel had heaps of parking. Our room was great, everything was pretty new and well appointed. We had a deck and a great view. Would stay here again.

Family weekend where we drive up from Dunedin & down from Christchurch and meet in Oamaru. Lovely clean and spacious apartments at Mariner Suites, beds very comfortable, large living space and the shower was fabulous! Great views out to the sea and only walking distance to the seals, blue penguins and numerous delicious eating & drinking venues. Spoilt for choice for great food in Oamaru. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and we would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to others. We will return!

The management of the Mariner Suites genuinely go above and beyond for their guests. I wanted to surprise some friends of ours with a little something special during their stay for their anniversary - I wasn't sure how to go about it, but after a quick chat Debbie had it all sorted, personally seeing to there being chocolates and bubbles for their arrival :) It was such a lovely experience and our friends had a great stay. I would highly recommend!!
