Detailed Reviews
My wife opened the door and immediately said to me “Oh, you’re going to like this.” It’s beautiful. It looks like the renovation was completed yesterday and we’re the first ones to stay. The kitchen has everything, including a full size freezer if you’re needing ice for your cooler. The living area is large and comfortable, including a wall-mounted large screen TV. The bedrooms and bathrooms are new, large, modern, and very comfortable. Blackout curtains keep both of them dark past sunrise. Parking for the ground floor apartment is two steps from the door, and there’s a laundry room right outside the back door. We’re early into a two month driving holiday around NZ, and now my concern is that no other place will match this one for luxury comfort and convenience. I wish we were staying longer!

Decor is gorgeous. Layout is superb, with 2,large bedrooms, both with en suites.
Kitchen and sitting room wonderful - kitchen has everything you’d need and the sitting room has comfortable and stylish furniture.
Location is ideal - literally around the corner from the centre of historic area.
We were also very appreciative of the early check in Katrina gave us - and the use of a washing machine (thanks Dave).

The Old Confectionery is a beautifully restored accommodation in walking distance to everything in Oamaru. The hand written welcome notes were such a sweet touch, and Katrina was welcoming and responsive. The
apartment was just what we hoped for while exploring Oamaru. We would definitely stay there again!

We stayed in Oamaru on our way to Dunedin with my dad and 2 daughters. The Old confectionery has been renovated to absolute perfection. The heritage features with the modern touches are stylish and homely.
The entire apartment is set up with a full kitchen and complete luxurious fit out. There is nothing more we could want for. Our only disappointment was to stay for one night when 3-4 nights would have been best to enjoy all that Oamaru has to offer, make the most of the accommodation and sleep longer in the big luxury beds.

Thank you Charlotte for your fabulous review and sorry it has taken me so long to respond to it! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and we agree that one night is not enough to enjoy all that Oamaru has to offer. We tried to make the apartments stylish and welcoming so it is nice to hear that you feel we have achieved that! We hope to see you again.

We booked this two bedroom apartment for a girls’ weekend in Oamaru and it exceeded all our expectations! We couldn’t actually believe our luck! The heritage decor was stunning, it was so warm and comfortable with every convenience and the lovely hosts David and Katrina had left some Whitestone Brie and crackers for us to enjoy. It was also only a minute’s walk away from the Tees St cafe and Cucina restaurant in the historic quarter where we enjoyed some beautiful meals. Our only regret was we had just booked one night. Will definitely stay longer next time!

This apartment was beautifully renovated with everything that you would need for a relaxing stay. Perfectly positioned in the tourist section of Oamaru.
Warm, spacious and sunny. Our host Katrina was so easy to contact and nothing was too much trouble for her. We would highly recommend a stay.
