We had a wonderful stay at the Vicarage. It is located a short walk from the town and its many attractions and eateries. The house is a beautiful old residence which is maintained in excellant condition, as is the garden. Our room was large, tastefully appointed and very comfortable, and likewise for the parlour. The breakfast was excellent, and the afternoon tea and drinks were appreciated. Finally, Jacqui was the perfect host. She ensured we were comfortable, was friendly and provided plenty of useful advice about Oamura, and also for our drive to Dunedin. We are very glad we stayed and highly recommend it to others.

We stayed for 4 nights with the hosts (Jacqui and co) from The Vicarage. The rooms were immaculate and we had a lovely breakfast each morning with just-so croissants brought in from Timaru and the most fabulous jam and fruit, cereals, coffee and juice. There were home baked nibbles when we returned to The Vicarage after our adventures. Being a crazy cat-lady having Penny greet us at the door upon arrival just added to the ambience. Jacqui was friendly and helpful with tips on what to see and do. She helped me with a purchase from the Victorian Precinct and shipped it to me. She has an eye for detail and it showed during our stay, and this was much appreciated. It was my dad's 80th birthday and she partied -up the breakfast area to make his day special. I totally recommend The Vicarage as a place to stay and it was a highlight of our trip- thank you!!

I stayed with my husband for 1 night, it was a lovely place. The hostess greeted us with drinks and made us feel right at home. We were given local tips on where to eat and drink and blankets to take with us to see the penguins. Our room was lovely and had a view of the garden which was charming. We had our own bathroom which I always recommend. Breakfast was delicious. I recommend staying here, it is great for couples or a couple of friends.

Our stay at the beautiful Vicarage was a delight from start to finish. Our lovely host anticipated every need we had, and made excellent and knowledgeable recommendations on dining and entertainment in the local area. The accommodation was very stylishly decorated, warm and welcoming with beautiful period features as well as modern and tasteful decor. We would certainly return.

Jacqui was the most wonderful host, so welcoming and accommodating we really felt like we were taken care of so well. Jacqui was so considerate even offering to put our electric blankets on ready for us to come in from the cold. The house is stunning, perfectly curated and attention to detail is fabulous. We will 100% be back. Wow wow wow. Thank you ☺️

Our host Jacqui was wonderful and our accommodation very comfortable. This boutique b&b was beautiful, and all our needs were met and more. The breakfast was scrumptious - with a range of cereals, juice, coffee and croissants, Blankets are provided for guests during the winter months if visiting the local blue penguin colony. Jacqui has The Vicarage up for sale, but hopefully if it remains as a B&B we would love to re-visit another time to experience the new owner's hospitality.

This is a lovely period villa with a very lovely host. Continental breakfast was great. The house is more than 120 years old. Great bed and linens Nice touches everywhere. We thought the room was a little average with respect to decor and artwork. It was cold when we arrived. Fortunately we went out for a few hours anyway and ut warmed up Vlaue for for money is OK

Thank you for taking the time to review. Tuesday was a particularly cold day indeed, the first of many to come now, I acknowledged the temperature immediately and popped a second heater in the room and with 10 minutes the room was warmer as a wine was enjoyed in the parlour. Thank you for your feedback re value for Money, this is a first that we have been marked down from 5, please let me know how we can improve, we provide a glass of wine with nibbles as well as afternoon tea and very substantial breakfast with endless tea and coffee available 24/7. I also offered transportation to the penguin colony. We take huge pride in providing our guests with the best experience it is very important to us. Thank you so much. Jacqui 🌸

Super warm, helpful host in a beautiful historic building. Around 8 minutes walk to the historic CBD precinct. Very quiet. Easy off street parking. Great breakfast. Felt right at home. Jacqui provided many recommendations for the city of Oamaru and beyond. Well worth a trip to the Fisher’s Wife and Moeraki Boulders.
