Had the absolute pleasure of staying for two nights at the Criterion Hotel in Oamaru, Mariss and Russell (Herbert) were very warm and welcoming, and being able to be immersed in all the history that the surrounding buildings offered was awesome. The photos of the bedroom on the Facebook page doesn't do it justice. Will definitely be staying there again when we return to Oamaru.

Charming Hotel hosted by charming and delightful owners Herbert and Marise. This is THE place to stay in Oamaru. Delicious meals, generous portions and exceptional value. Feels like home. Can’t wait to come back.

Lunch at this pub on a sunny and warm day right by the window looking out on to the street and listening to the jazz sounds all around. Service couldn't be better and my pie was so delicious and hubby's kundera patties also. The star of the show was the chutney! I could have licked the dish clean!

Went for lunch at the Criterion Hotel today. What a lovely place. The owners were amazing and so friendly. Giving us information on the history of the building which was very interesting. The food was great. Lots of dishes to choose from and the size of the meal was perfect. The atmosphere and furniture was just perfect. Well worth a visit.

Loved it! We had the ensuite, shower and bed excellent. Very clean. Loved the extra wee rooms like the upstairs lounge. Owners really lovely. The only downside was the pub was shut when we came back at 9:30. This is my place to stay in Oamaru from now on.
