Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is no need to stay at souless hotels when there are cosy, quiet and comfortable lodgings at a B&B run by friendly, generous and down-to-earth hosts like Julie and Gareth on offer. They immediately welcomed us like friends/relatives. Loved the room and fantastic hospitality. Wished we had stayed more than 1 night.

Garth n Julie run a small B&B but there is nothing small about their welcome. We arrived in the late afternoon after a long drive from Christchurch. Julie welcomed us like old friends and showed us to a lovely room with all the facilities. The bed was really comfortable, the decor was very pleasant and had a unique twist making it so different from our other stays.
In the morning Julie produced a really scrumptious breakfast which we and our hostl sat around the table and enjoyed. There was no lack of conversation either. We actually stayed a lot longer than we had intended but we enjoyed the company so much that we didn't want to rush off.
This is a great place to stay, especially if you want experience the full New Zealand hospitality.

We had a lovely spacious room with an ensuite. The ranch slider led into a colourful well tended garden. Great breakfast and Garth and Julie gave us lots of good local information on where to go and what to see. Far enough out of town to be quiet, yet only 4-5 minutes drive to the heart of Oamaru.
Enjoyed it immensely - we look forward to a return visit!
