I booked and stayed in this motel yesterday, Sunday the 04/03/2012, along with me was my 3 year old daughter.

The service was good, the room was of an acceptable standard, bed comfortable, lounge suite great and bathroom fabulous. There was no doubt about that. However in saying that my daughter went to bed with no bites and woke up with bites all over her body. I addressed my concern today at 1.30pm today and was appalled by the service received. I am astounded by the reply received from a female staff member and then her manager on top of that.

I have never felt so belittled in my life. It was more like they were accusing me of being dishonest and then requesting me to pay for the service of a pest controller? and asking me if I was only after a refund, too which I wasnt at first but then after the service received, by all means I now am. The staff that I spoke to today were absolutely rude and injust in how they responded to my concern regarding the nature of my 3 year olds bites on her body. I took her to the doctors and they confirmed they were bed mite bites. The manager there kept saying they dont know that cause they never saw her body the night we checked in, so to me, that has come across as not being a concern to them but being more concerned about them giving me a special price for my room (too which again, i had no issues about).

I do not recommend this motel to anyone after this experience with them.

I came up from christchurch to auckland, and just needed somewhere to relax and unwind after a stressful few months, i looked up a lot of hotels in auckland, and noticed pacific inn and gateway motel and travellors inn were the cheapest and all had last minute rooms but id heard some really negative reviews on the other two, so i chose pacific inn the rooms looked really nice on the web sight, on the sight i checked rates and it said the most expensive was $99, i then rang to make sure there was rooms available, and how much it would cost me per night, i was told on the phone $79, i thought yay great on the budget, as i had planned on staying a week until i moved into my place. Upon arriving at the hotel i walked in and noticed the not so attractive looking corridor, a so called restaurant that wasnt open and looked about the size of a shoebox, when i arrived at reception i then let the lady no i had rang half an hour ago about a room she then said yea sure, i arrived at 9.30 in the morning then was asked to pay $140, i then explained about what i had been told on the phone, i was then told i had to pay a day room fee ontop of the nightly price, i was gobsmacked and couldnt belive it, i paid anyway as i wasnt sure if i could find a room elsewhere due to the short notice and wallabies and all blacks match at eden park, but i think that it is really unfair they are charging people a day room fee and a night rate and based on where the place is located, mangere one of the worst places in auckland , icould of checked into the holiday inn or grand chancellor or a mystery hotel in the cbd through wotif at that price at the same times of the day and it would of been worth it as they are quiet luxurious. Overall i must say the rooms wernt to bad they were very neat and tidy, clean linen, beautiful duvets, and pillows, bathroom quiet basic no bath just shower but claan and not any shampoo or conditioner on offer at 140 a night. Just dont get it. Its quiet sad because tourists are going to think we are ripoffs in this country if this is what this place is doing to people.

We stayed here the other week for 3 nights before our flight overseas and then for a night on return. Room is what I expected for accommodation at a budget motel. Nice clean bedding and the room was tidy, however could do with dusting and vacuuming of the skirting boards. Provided prompt shuttle service with both pick up and drop off to the airport. Although the staff were quiet to converse with we did find them polite.

This place was shockingly dirty and shabby. The bedsheet had large yellow stains which made it not possible to sleep on it. There was a tuft of hair in the bedroom sink and holes in the curtains and carpets. The bedroom door could not be locked which made it unsafe to stay or leave valuables in the room. The staff were rude and despite promises of airport transfers, kept me waiting for over quarter of an hour when I asked to be taken to the airport.

My husband and I booked a room for 5nights and I had my kids visiting before we left for Australia as we were catching up in our room I get a knock on the door and was told "ah excuse me you only paid for two people" my response was I know that my children are just visiting. And then He asks well what time are they leaving they have to be gone by 9pm yet it was 6pm at the time I couldn't believe it I didn't realise that there were visiting hours!!!!! Then he had the nerve to knock on the door 2mins later and this time he said because my son and grandson were sitting on the bed they had to get off because they were visitors and they have to respect the room by this time I was fuming and just closed the door my children left by 7pm and I get another knock on the door by the night shift by about 9pm and they were checking to see if my kids were gone. The next morning I went to reception to lay a complaint about the whole ordeal and was told that it is against their company policy to have visitors in the room so I told them to show me where it says that and they couldn't provide me with anything absolutely pathetic!!! Saying things are company policy yet they have nothing to back it up. I would never recommend this place to anyone absolutely no privacy whatsoever..😡😡

Trip Adviser won't let me rate this no stars so it gets a very generous one. Dirty, suspicious-looking staff, smelly, noisy. Our room overlooked the car park (doors a-slamming) and main road - earplugs needed. The bathroom was unpleasant, the room hadn't been painted in over 20 years, the furniture was cheap and broken, the tv barely worked, the bedsheets horrible looking, the door looked like a flea could push it over... There is a "restaurant" and "bar" - for our sins we ate there as there is little else in the vicinity. Awful! Dirty cutlery, dirty plates. Unfortunately I had a good view of the filthy kitchen with its grease covered walls, food on the floor and cockroach crawling up the door frame. This place should be closed down - do NOT stay here, spend an extra $20 and try the (full) Best Western next door or just sleep on the airport lounge floor, it can't be any worse and you'll probably get more sleep. Without doubt the worst place I have ever stayed in and that includes 5 months in Indian and SE Asian budget hotels. AVOID, even for one night.

This place is a sham on many level. It advertises "free airport shuttle." The "free" shuttle is only free when you rent the most expensive room. Otherwise $20 NZ each way for a 3 min ride from the airport. But what kills me is they missing the wake up call when they know their customers pretty much all have international flights. All I got was a "sorry." I made my flt (barely) only because I was in business class and had no lines. I missed my shower for a 40+ hour journey so am not happy with these clowns.

Avoid this accommodation and accommodation owners at all costs ! Especially female travellers.

Described in the Online Summary there would be heating and Wifi at this Hotel. On arriving I was given the Wifi Password where it DID connect, however the signal was not strong enough to download a standard email. When I settled into the room, as it is the middle of winter I went to turn on the heating, however there was no remote. I discovered a very small electrical heater that was extremely flimsy and looked more like a fire hazard with no Safety Tags on the electrical cord which are industry standard. I had very little sleep as a consequence as I was was extremely cold.

The phone to reception also was not functional. I would have been better staying in the airport.

The walls are also incredibly thin as I discovered - the ppl next door to me partied loudly until approximately 5am. It is also very close to the highway and you can hear everything - very very noicy.

In the morning when I relayed my experience to the Hotel Owner in the vehicle to the Airport he proceeded to tell me "I was wrong and I just could not use the room correctly". Use the room correctly ? There was nothing to use - the facilities were either absent, broken or extremely unsafe ! When I stood up for myself he continued to talk over me telling me I was wrong and to "shut up as he doesn't have to deal with ppl like me". He then threatened me - threatened that he would not take me to the airport and leave me on the side of the road.

I think that speaks for itself. The Hotel Owner, after not delivering on the facilities promised, and when approached on the failings he threatened to leave a lone female traveler, on the side of a highway, in the dark, in a country she does not know. I'm absolutely disgusted.

His rant went on long enough that I had time to record him on Audio.

In my entire years of being in the customer service business this one takes the cake....came and got a rate around 9am from a lady for $139. We were told she will check with the boss and to see if they will clean the room and accommodate us....I filled out the checkin form at got stamped for 915am. We got the room around 945am. I found out she was the boss! We went upstairs and the carpet was filthy and not vacuumed so we asked them to vacuum. I showered and came to nap and realized the inside pillow cases were brown and dirty so asked them to to please change it. while I was laying down hubby decided to play music on his Utube and realized that u tube was blocked by the hotel. The young girl at front desk told him utube is not included on the free wifi and ig he wanted to have utube he could come downstairs and pay $89 for more wifi and they would open up utube! My hubby said we have travelled all over and no one blocked Wifi..Every place we checked in gave it for free. She said give me the name and of those hotels and motels you stayed at and I will call them and ask them who gave you wifi for utube. I got up and took my hubby downstairs and the girl behind the desk would not acknowledge us...I asked for her mom the owner. The mom came and I explained to her that you advertise for free wifi yet nowhere is it written no access to utube. She said customers have mis used wifi so she blocked utube. Her younger son now is standing looking at us and giving us attitude, Her older daughter has taken a stand on the other side staring us down. The owner starts defending her daughter on her behaviour and says her kids are very good and customers made them this way. I said this is not right and we paid you and you should not treat people like this. My hubby goes its bad for your business to treat customers badly. The son piped us and said don't worry about our business we can take of it ourselves. He gave us the nod and no care attitude. I asked th lady is that how your son talks to customers and she said no my kids are good and I said to the son we only asked for utube coz we love our music. He gave me the no care loo and said that's what an ipod is for and you should use that. I said we arein our forties we don't really carry ipods around as we just use utube. He goes that's how its done in New Zealand... we use ipods!!!. I was upset then as the mother and both daughters and son were just mouthing off....I said just charge me for the 4hrs I have been here and refund me the money as I cannot stay here anymore. I said I see you all four fighting with me and I am the customer so I get it real well how much you value customer service. I said I have travelled the world but this is my first visit to New Zealand and I have never experienced anything like this. I said I have been in the travel industry for the last 20 plus years and this one takes the cake. She charged me $70 for the four hours when she had a sign outside saying day rooms for $40 only. I said the $70 was unfair but it was not point in arguing with them. The bar is closed and has clutter all over. The beds and bedding seems new but the carpet is filthy and does not look like it was shampooed for a long time. Pictures on this site are deceiving as the rooms are very run down. I would not recommend this property to no one....its a rip off and the owners entire family fights the customers plus they said customers made them that way! What an insult to the customer!

This place is dreadful . I was robbed while I slept. The intruder came into my room through the ranch slider , he either had a key or the door was faulty and easily opened. The person in the office really didn't care that I was left without money, passport, camera and no way to get out to the airport . I was going to stay two nights but without any money or credit cards on a Saturday morning I was stranded.
