We booked a king room which stipulated on the website it was on the top floor. However, the receptionist gave us a ground floor room. When we realised this, we explained to her that we had purposely booked a top floor to reduce the risk of the ‘tap dancers’ above, as we are light sleepers. She said we would need to come back in an hour or so, and she could not guarantee anything - not a great welcome. She was not helpful or sympathetic, and we had to hang around waiting. Luckily when we returned later, she had found us a room directly above the one we had first been given! The room was a decent size, good sized bed, which was comfortable, good pillows. Bath with shower over. Iron and ironing board (although the padding was very thin on the board). We had a pool view, which can get noisy with kids during the daytime. Gym was reasonable, quite a few cardio equipment, and basic weight machines. Guest Laundry if you need it. No where locally for food or meals unless you drive. About 10 minutes to the Airport depending on traffic. Heaps of car parking. Restaurant and bar area is nicely done. The exterior and corridor/stair areas are dated and look like a 1970’s block of flats, but the room decor is better. Would probably stay again pre or post flight.…

It’s so good to return to a Hotel where the staff become family. There is a special culture of genuine love felt if you ever get a chance to meet the lovely Mandy, Larissa, Sean, Alvin & Aldana. Sadly the rotation of GM occurs every so often but what remains is this team who combined have been part of the fabric and DNA of this special hotel for over 10 years + This hotel is nestled in the heart of Magele (Mangere). Whilst Diamond Elite comes with its benefits, status to the above named staff isn’t only for us, they treat everyone they encounter with such love it’s infectious to return, hence why I have met 6 GM’s in over the years, longterm return on investment keeps me coming back and keeps me returning with not only Corporate business but my own family events are brought here. Mandy, Larissa, Sean & Alvin, you really are beautiful humans. Hoping you get an opportunity to share this wisdom with your Business Development Sales person/team who sadly have never taken the time to just say hello, BDM/Sales is about relationship building & sadly this is the let down for me as a longtime consumer of this Hotel & other IHG Hotels internationally. We stayed here for 1 night after a delayed late flight. It was convenient as we were picking up a rental car from the airport the next morning. First thing is getting here. There is a yellow airport shuttle bus that goes between the airport and a few hotels. It was about $16 one way and $32 return. If there more than one of you there is also the option of Uber which was about $17 one way using Uber Green. We ended up taking the bus which was fine and took 7 minutes. The staff when we arrived were friendly and check in was very quick and efficient. The room we got was on the ground floor overlooking gardens/pools. They are spacious rooms, bed is comfortable and shower is good. The bathtub was quite big too. Very comfortable and no complaints. There’s a few cafes around the area and a countdown nearby too if you need anything.…

Dingy, depressing substandard room a long walk from Reception desperately in need of refurbishment. Carpets brown, stained and wrinkled, cracked electrical power socket in bathroom, noisy fan in bathroom giving out cooking fumes and wouldn't turn off. Asked to change room but hotel full as a Bank Holiday. Staff helpful and did their best to compensate but... In the previous 2 weeks I have stayed at the Holiday Inn, Melbourne Airport and Hobart Crowne Plaza, both high standard. This is the complete opposite. Hotel is at the end of Yellow Bus route $8 one way and taxi fare is very high. Be warned! Have cancelled my November reservation and rebooked with a competitor.

I’m surprised at some of the negative comments, as we thought this hotel was brilliant.. maybe there’s an old section and a new section, and we lucky enough to have the new section, or a particularly good room. Anyway, we only had one night here, as were traveling from the Cook Islands to Perth, but wished we could have stayed longer. The room was modern, spacious, clean and quiet, and we both slept like logs. The hotel breakfast was five star, but the dinner the previous night wasn’t that great. Very little choice a la carte for vegetarians, and we weren’t hungry enough to pay for the buffet. That’s the only negative thing we encountered.

Rooms are dated and worn, corridor carpet very worn and dirty. Room smelled stale and awful. A team member happily came and re-cleaned bathroom when asked. This didn’t help the smell. Food and service great. Heavy traffic noise at night. Our accomodation was booked and paid by AirNZ due to delayed flight and missed connection.

Pretty disappointing for a gateway to Aotearoa experience. Food is not much better than pub grub, everyone still blaming covid for their inadequacies. A Caesar salad stripped with a terrible commercial mayonnaise and no cocktails at the bar, they said it was something to do with covid that they don’t do cocktails anymore, then said they haven’t done them for five years. (covid was 2 years ago) Oh bring back the good old days when this place was a Travel Lodge and they did the best cocktails. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were nice and friendly. Appealing gardens and pond. Convenient place if you’re needing to be near the airport but Mangere as a destination isn’t recommended. Not a lot happening.

Fantastic service from the moment we walked through the door. Wow, great staff here who were all so friendly and seemed genuinely pleased to be of service. Thank you all so much, especially Noreen on the front desk. The whole place was spotlessly clean, the bar and cafe area open plan with good range of sitting down or leaning up, great to be able to stretch out after travel. The beds and pillows were the best! In fact we wanted to buy a pillow to bring home. Choice of course of super soft and cuddly and firm. Great sleep. Complimentary parking on site and handy to the motorway makes this our number 1 go to Airport Hotel.

Stayed two nights during the week on a Monday (Room 1116) and Friday (Room 2233). You can catch the Yellow Bus from Auckland Airport - the cost for two people is $16.50 - great service and user-friendly driver. Check-in on both occasions was straightforward and very welcoming. Room 1116 is on the ground floor looking out at the pool, a pond, and other lush subtropical vegetation. Lovely basic clean room, a comfortable bed, and good shower pressure; and so many power plugs! The only thing to let the room down was a badly placed patch in the carpet. Lovely room and outlook and a pity it was was not available on our Friday return to the hotel. The only downside to Room 1116 would be problems with the pond being unfenced if you had young children. Room 2233 was on the second floor of Tower Four - plenty of free parking. The room like our previous room was clean and tidy - the only downside was the scaffolding outside our window which I wasn't told about - the place looks like it's getting a needed makeover. Over all, I thought the two rooms were value for money and clean. The staff were both friendly and helpful. So overall verdict is that I'd stay again when passing through Auckland. …
