Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Naumi Auckland Airport Hotel boasts an eclectic and artistic ambiance that captivates many travelers, despite some noticing signs of wear. While the hotel's prime location near the airport is consistently lauded, guest experiences with room comfort and cleanliness vary, though many acknowledge the hotel's overall tidiness and attention to detail. Noise has been a concern for some due to inadequate soundproofing.
Amenities generally receive positive remarks for their comfort and complimentary offerings, although a few point out the need for updates. The service quality is uneven, with commendations for staff friendliness contrasting reports of occasional sluggishness. Value perceptions are mixed, balancing favorable pricing against criticisms of unexpected costs and room issues.

We were actually meant to stay at the Naumi towards the end of our 6 week holiday, but we ended up here just over a week into our trip due to COVID19, trying to get flights home to the UK. We checked in on 25th March initially for 1 night, we had popped in the day before about the possibility of extending the stay if required and to see what the hotel was like. The staff were immediately compassionate to our situation, they were kind and very helpful. We were allocated room 178 on the ground floor with garden access, which turned out to be a god send during lockdown. The room had 2 queen beds which were comfortable, a fridge, free wifi, air conditioning and Netflix built into the TV. The first night we were there the bar/restaurant were open until 10pm, after that they were permeantly shut due to level 4 lockdown. We had stocked up on some items from countdown, so the fridge in the room was very handy. We had breakfast included for our first night, however it wasn't much due to the limited menu offerings on room service only. We ended up booking the room for another 7 nights due to the lack of flight availability, we actually ended up staying another 2 nights before we managed to get home on the 3rd set of flights we booked. When we left the hotel we told them we were heading to the airport, they advised us not to check out as they were full and if our flight did not go ahead then we would not have anywhere to stay, so we called them when we boarded our flight and they only charged us half a room rate (was about 4pm), which was really good of them. We also asked them to hand out the supplies we had left in the room to other people that may need it ( i hope they did as there was bottles of water, apple juice, ham, cheese, bread, ginger ale, crips etc). The hotel was really nice, not an airport hotel at all, would definately stay here again, thank you for being such nice people during such a horrific experience.

We have stayed several times at Naumi hotel Auckland airport and have always enjoyed it. This time the young lady on reception didn't smile and looked down her nose at us and advised us several times that we had booked an economy room! Well yes was there something wrong with that?? We booked several months in advance as we had an Asian cruise booked and only wanted to lay our heads down as we were leaving the hotel at 4.30am to catch a flight.
As it turned out our cruise was cancelled because of the coronavirus and as our booking was non refundable we decided to stay anyway as we always enjoyed our stay there. On site parking is free for guests overnight.
Nobody escorted us to our room or told us about facilities etc (presumbably because we only booked an economy room!!) as we had stayed previously we knew that the mini bar soft drinks, water and chocolate were free and breakfast could be ordered at reception when checking in for $15.
The room was large with 2 queen beds , a table, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board with ensuite with bath and shower over. The decor was a bit dated and other rooms we have stayed in have been nicer decor wise but this was fine for what we wanted at the time. The view was lovely!!!!!!!!! Rubbish bins which were emptied in the early hours of the morning waking us up. This is what you can expect with an economy room! Regardless for an economy room this was a good one.
The bar was nice for a drink during happy hour and the bird cage with canaries is still there in reception. We did not eat in the restaurant but have had breakfast previously which was very good.
We were disappointed with the attitude this time so in September when we hope to fly again we are staying at a different airport hotel.
Check out was good and the young man was very friendly and empathic to our cancelled travel arrangements. This is what we came to expect of the Naumi.

I booked Naumi ahead of a very early flight, and was not disappointed.
The whole hotel has life and personality. On top of that, each feature has been carefully considered and contributes to make the experience super relaxing.
I stayed in a Tui room, which featured a stunning bathroom with both rain and hand held showers, two queen beds and a very generously sized floor plan.
Artwork is striking, colour schemes are appealing, beds are comfortable, towels are huge, soft and thick, TV is large and easy to connect to Netflix etc.
The freebies on offer are the most generous I’ve experienced; soft drink, milk, water and chocolate in the mini fridge, tea, chips and coffee, SOAK toiletries, and a lolly bar, free popcorn, and pitchers of juice and water in common areas.
The hotel is mostly one level, with an inground fenced pool, gym, bar, rest areas, tasty restaurant etc. there’s also a golf activity and a peaceful English garden
Staff are friendly and helpful without being in your face - they are just as happy to leave you to it as they are to have a chat, at your preference.
I’m genuinely impressed and will definitely be back - an absolute lifesaver for a frequent flier like me!
You managed to allow me to start a full on week feeling relaxed and rested even though I flew out before dawn. Thank you!

This hotel tries verrry hard to be cool (Do you really need faux fur lining your chair at breakfast?) and the quirky signage and room info can get a bit much without always telling you what you need to know (like the time breakfast is served until, for example). Points for showcasing NZ artists and fauna though. The bar fridge freebies are great, the room contains various T2 teas the toiletries are a bit better quality than your average airport hotel. Unfortunately the coffee pod machine in our room ate one of the pods before the espresso came out of it. The beds were comfortable, the towels were large (but still a little damp right in the middle),and the bathroom fogs up massively after one shower. The wifi is reliable, and the rooms are clean. The fish and chips we ordered as room service were very greasy and the side salad was overdressed. The $15 breakfast promo is great value. Our poached eggs on sourdough and hash browns were delicious.

Naumi was great for the purpose of needing somewhere close to the airport for an early flight the next day. The foyer and bar areas are amazing, such awesome artwork, lounges, everything just so so cool. I want to decorate my house this way! We booked a comfort room or something like that and our room was very basic and standard, not at all like the photos above. It is very obviously a renovation of a very old hotel so the window fittings, balcony, bathroom, setup of the room etc was pretty old school. But the room was clean and the bed was comfy enough. Maybe there are better rooms than what we booked, who knows, I just booked the cheapest rate I could find at the time as I knew we were literally only going to be there for 6hrs. There is free parking for guests. The shuttle to the airport is $6pp and goes to every hotel in the area so takes about 20-30mins. I would recommend an Uber for the same price as you would get dropped there directly.

We booked this hotel from Queensland by telephone after checking Trip Advisor to see some very good reviews. When we got to the hotel the desk clerk told us we had booked an economy room and asked if we wanted to upgrade it. The reviews of the hotel were good, the lobby looked modern and well appointed and we were only staying for about 8 hours to catch an early flight so we said no - an economy room is fine (thinking the room would mirror our first impression and the reviews). However the room was way back in the building - as far from the front desk as you could go - it was extremely dated and smelled stale. Had we booked into a "budget" hotel we would only have been marginally disappointed but with all the fan fare we expected much more.

We have booked economy room and have asked for a room accessible by lift since the hotel has indicated that some rooms are not accessible by lift. The hotel was trying to be helpful and assigned us to an accessible room on the ground floor. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a nest of mosquitos. The manager very promptly reacted and assigned us to a different room on the ground floor which was ok. The room had all the usual facilities and the word “economy” probably reflected that it was little bit worn out, in particular the carpet. But overall, we recommend this hotel, being in a proximity of the airport. Staff was courteous and helpful; we were allowed to delay the departure until 4pm (for a fee).

Let me just say that I think every hotel should have an internal tech support by now. This one included. The tv couldn't connect to the internet, so I couldn't use Netflix. When I called the reception, they send a maintenance guy who didn't know that Netflix was even an option the hotel offered and since he is maintenance and not tech support, he couldn't help. But he tried his best and was nice enough. The wifi didn't work either (didn't bother to call reception for that one), was just glad that I still had some data left on my phone.
To the good parts: the hotel is quirky, colorful and there is great attention to detail (like the free supplies in your mini fridge). The room I stayed in (Oasis) was very comfortable, had a nice soak tub and a balcony (that was a bit run down but didn't distract too much from the overall atmosphere). Also the room was very large, and if you stayed there for longer there is enough places so that you wouldn't have to live out of your suitcase. The staff is nice, very welcoming and friendly. Overall would recommend.
Also "pro tip" you can catch the 380 bus right outside the hotel to get to the airport for 3,50$.

The first thing I noticed about this hotel was the great big bird cage in the lobby. Such beautiful little birds inside singing away. The next thing i noticed was such a friendly atmosphere. A very warm welcoming smile came from the receptionist as we checked in. We stayed here for two nights, and this welcoming atmosphere permeated from the staff all through the hotel. The second night turned out to be a bit exciting. There was a false fire alarm. Now I bring this up simply because I want to point out just how professionally the staff coped in carrying out their duties. It was obvious they all knew their positions directing the guests to the appropriate muster point. Was it good to have a false alarm? Of course not, but it gave me great confidence that, if there was a real fire we need not worry. Now, back to the hotel in general: clean and comfortable beds, well appointed rooms (ours had access out onto the garden) a well supplied mini bar with a few complementary items and a generally warm feeling about the room its self.
A very nice breakfast can be added on if you wish, served in the restaurant area as is supper. The supper menu is sufficiently filled with delectable eats enough for any palate, again service with a smile. That smile goes along with all the staff as they show they care about you. If you decide to not have your room made up that, or any day, well you get a free drink at the bar. A nice touch! Also a complimentary drink is given at check in, but don't tell anybody. And that's my take on Naumi hotel Auckland airport, I have been in many hotels in my life and this one is great.

'Naumi says.... your welcome at my house anytime!' Dear Knightsflyer, Wow, what great review you have given us for Naumi Hotel Auckland Airport! We like to ensure all of our guests are comfortable and well looked after, even under testing circumstances like the alarm that was set off. Whilst not ideal, it is an important part of hospitality to make sure we get it right. After all, the safety and security of guests and staff are paramount. You have touched on everything we want to achieve, a safe, friendly, clean and comfortable environment that is hassle-free, even with a few freebies added :) Your review will make all of us at Naumi Auckland smile, so I hope we get the chance to welcome you back again in the future. Enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Naumi before my long flight back to Canada. It was a little further than I thought from downtown Auckland but the hotel has cab service to take you back to central Auckland for $35. The one thing I would like to say is if you have any walking problems, the hotel is spread out over a large space and only has one elevator. So, book a room close to the elevator as I found it a long walk to my room.
