Beds are clean and comfortable. Staff are super friendly, outgoing helpful. Even get a free bucket of ice for drinks when you ask at the bar. The rooms have a door that opens to a yard for fresh air, and the room is at least THREE times the size of Ibis Auckland International Airport for the same price, if not less! The showers are HUGE with heaps of water pressure and extra hot water when needed. The food is really good quality, quick and can even be taken to your room to eat, if you ask them for a take away. Yellow bus to and from the airpart. Just watch your toes on the bed bases, yes bases, there are two massive beds, even when you book for two people.

Nice refurbished hotel near the airport, convenient for early or late flights, if you decide to stay downtown Auckland it's about a good hour away from Airport. If you take public transportation, it will drop you off around the corner from the hotel but make sure to get a AT HOP card at airport convenience store before exiting it can be used on any public transportation in Auckland I put $20 on the card and it's plenty for a ride to hotel and trip down town and back with enough credit on my flight back. It can be used for multiple riders... make sure to top in and out! The hotel lobby and Common grounds are really great and esthetically pleasing, it's very open and inviting. My room was on the second floor with a small but lovely terrace overlooking the pool and the green landscaping. The room was comfortable with all that you would expect. The beds (2 queens) are on the firmer side, pillows (plenty of them) were adequate and I slept well. The only negative was the bathroom, although nicely updated with new hardware, the tub and tiles definitely showed their age. The water pressure was excellent and hot water was available within seconds. No noise whatsoever from surrounding rooms but you do get some moderate noise from the pool area. Not much to do at walking distance but for an overnight stay it was perfect, if you are in strawberry season make sure to take a 5 min walk down the road to the strawberry farm for some fresh strawberries or a soft ice-cream serve, the place is packed from the minute they open, they are some of the best tasting ones I ever had. For ride back to airport you can use the public transport or the yellow shuttle bus for $8 but the shuttle will take about a good 30min as it makes multiple stops.

Thank you for organising our room, it was very quiet and comfortable. Thank you SO much for the beautiful bottle of wine, was a very special treat so thank you so much. Staff were all lovely which is an asset to Naumi and your management. An ABSOLUTE stand out was at breakfast this morning… Sandro went above and beyond for our gluten free son, wow. He was so accomodating and so knowledgeable. Took us to the buffet and explained what could be cooked for him, absolute gem. Food was beautiful when it came, our son was so happy. We LOVED the buffet breakfast too so thank you so much for that special treat as well :) Sandro also when we were leaving kindly filled our water bottles, added ice and made sure they were clean and dry for us. Bless him, can we please nominate him for the superstar award. I can’t seem to get onto it to do it. He deserves recognition as he’s so lovely to all customers and so helpful.

We chose this hotel because it seemed unique and quirky. What we found was the hallways were dark and our room The OASIS dark and gloomy. We were provided 2 coffee pods for 2 people, enough for one cup each, when I asked for more it took 4 hours for someone to come and when they did housekeeping just walked in the room without knocking while my partner was standing at the ironing board in his towel as we were getting ready to go out for the evening. After all that they bought 2 more coffee pods. We had decided to go for a quick swim before showering and getting ready for an evening out. The pool was locked, by the time the front desk had tracked someone down to open the locked door it was too late for a swim. The amenities advertised states "smart TV with Netflix" when we tried to watch Netflix it required a log in. I contacted reception and they advised that the app for Netflix is included but you need your own Netflix log in. This is completely misleading advertising. Next to the coffee machine there is a little stand where the coffee pods sit, the room is so dark and gloomy it was hard to see and when I removed the coffee cup from the machine and placed on the counter it caught the edge of the stand and coffee was spilt everywhere. We had to use tissues and towels to clean it up. I contacted reception for assistance but it kept going to voicemail. Because of this spill I needed fresh towels as I had rinsed all the coffee out to remove the risk of staining so they were soaking wet. I left a tag on our door to refresh our room as we needed more towels and coffee. We were out all day and on returning at 9pm at night our room has not been cleaned or replacement towels or coffee. Again I had to go looking for coffee. None of this was the worst aspect of this hotel. The absolutely worst thing of this hotel was the bed. It was like sleeping on concrete. After 2 nights on this bed my entire body ached. I had used all pillows and blankets to try and add an extra layer between myself and the mattress and even seriously considered sleeping on the floor the bed was that bad. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and slept on many uncomfortable beds but this rates as the worst I have ever slept on. We paid almost $600 for 2 nights in this hotel and was most certainly NOT worth the money. Do yourselves a favor and choose somewhere else if you want a comfortable nights sleep and good customer service.

The shortcomings outnumber any plus's at this Hotel. I would hardly rate it 4.5 or describe it as a luxury Hotel. I researched what the building housed before it became a Hotel, because the structure resembled a storage unit facility. But only found that it was completely overhauled by 2018. During my stay heard children running down the halls, doors closing loudly and music from the Hotel parking lot. I had to ask for a second room key because the lights etc were operated by a 'security' card slot. I also had to ask for a door hanger as to not be woken up by Housekeeping staff. No help was offered with my luggage on arrival, though I am a small stature, older woman. I generally have no problems handling my own, but I was upstairs, a long way from my room door and no baggage carts were available or visible. The condition inside the Hotel itself were too warm and the room situation was also hot. The advertised Garden was not a garden but a basic courtyard. The pool is average, I tried to use it, but chose not to when I noticed many children occupying it. The gym is also of average size. I only had one meal here and it was disappointing - it was boxed frozen fish, string (probably) bagged fries and a small salad that was decent. I tried to go out for meals but there aren't many options nearby. In fact this Hotel has mostly neighborhoods around it. No restaurants to speak of, No shopping, No attractions and the vendors I called for excursions advised I would have to meet them at Auckland CBD & one advised they would charge me more to pick me up from that location. Some surrounding businesses look like they have been shutdown for some time. I received street harassment, better known as 'catcalling' when I walked outside of the wrought iron gate of the Hotel. When I got home from my mostly wonderful 18 day NZ tour I see this Hotel charged me for 2 nights that I did not stay and some additional separate charges that are a mystery to me. I will be talking to them and my bank about these errant charges. Take heed fellow travelers...

We arrived close to midnight after a long haul delayed flight so the complementary snacks and drinks in the room were an unexpected and much appreciated find. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the blackout curtains were great for a much needed sleep in! The room was quiet, decor top notch and it was good to see large bottles of shampoo etc not one use throw aways. The breakfast buffet had a great selection, the apple juice was yum, tasted home squeezed not store bought. Would definitely stay here again!!

Beware while booking this property and read the fine print carefully before you make your reservation payment. We were looking to book a room at this property with breakfast for 4 adults which their site clearly allowed but in a very strategically hidden tab to fine print it said 2 additional guests will be charged $35 each for breakfast. We decided to connect with the reservations team to get clarity on what would be the additional charges for 2 extra guests. One person Joan by name replied saying they allow only 3 people per room at first but when we let him know that their site says it allows 4, he said that should be okay in that case. Secondly, on enquiring he said breakfast is included only for 2 people and the additional 2 will have to pay $35 each. We were still okay with that since we did read that in the fine print. Just to be clear so there are no confusions during check-in we specifically made it a point to ask him if the $35 per person was it or if there would be any other additional charges. He then replied back saying out of 4 guests, 2 guests will be charged an additional $30 each for occupancy. During booking the site clearly allows 4 adults in the room with no additional charges for 2 extra guests whatsoever mentioned in the booking quote. So to sum up, an additional $65 per person would be charged at check-in. This was not even mentioned in their fine print and it looks like there is lack of coordination between the web reservations and desk reservations teams. Or there can be something shady in their policies. If we hadn't to clarify, we would be surprised and shocked to know that we would have to pay an additional $130 at the time of check-in. We expressed our disappointment and told Joan that we would like to refrain from booking the property due to this shady behaviour and thought we'd express our disappointment to the team before writing a review. We received another mail from the manager Mr. Andre apologising and said he would personally call to make this right but it's been over a week, we haven't received any further communication from their end. All in all, I must say the property may look great and offer good rooms but beware of their hidden policies and charges before booking.

Prepare yourself for a long read as this hotel continues to surprise me… it was our second visit here to Naumi and from the word go, it has been nothing short of a luxury! The reservation handling was seamless. The eclectic music at the foyer to the modern kiosks for check in with the most helpful staff started us off on the right note. The room was well appointed and looks refreshingly new and well furnished. Modern designs coupled with comfort ensured a good nights rest for us which we were hoping for. Breakfast at their restaurant was well worth it and had a good variety of international foods. We weren’t able to use their gym and mini golf course but walked across their well maintained lawns and had a cuppa in our outdoor balcony. I especially love the brands conversational touches in their amenity packaging. A special thanks to their GM Desmond who met with us during our stay and a shout out to Sandro at breakfast! We will definitely visit Naumi for our next stay in Auckland and recommend this to all.

We were once regulars here when the hotel was beautiful. But since covid it is shabby. We had a credit and to use it we were subject to almost double the price, after haggling we got the price down but the room we were given was shabby, paint chips off walls and doors, like a bad tenant had lived there definitely not as advertised. None of the little extras that Naumi were famous for. The staff were lovely, food tasty but minimal for huge price, These rooms should never be given to paying guests especially for the price they charge, It needs a total revamp to become the original Naumi if they want to attract back their clientele. Horrible wouldnt stay again.

I had visited this place 3 times pre Covid. It was AMAZING. Everything from staff, rooms, ambience, food. Especially the food. They had an Exec chef and as someone who has been to a few Michelin starred places, I really enjoyed it because it tasted like someone had put heart into it.
What a difference 3 years makes. I think it's still suffering a post Covid/MIQ hangover which, like an annoying cold, that still feels like a decent one, it cannot shake.
Who orders pork belly in a restaurant and gets it 5min after ordering?? It must have sat there for the better part of 2 hours or was pre thawed in a microwave. Tough, dry, totally lacking in any kind of heart.
The room was alright. I think the robes have definitely been over laundered and I suspect has been worn a million times over by one of the many quarantine residents who resided there. Gives me the ick just thinking about it. They only do housekeeping every 3rd day, room service menu is utterly basic and toiletries are just pure average, recommend BYO.
Only redeeming thing is your staff. They really do try but and are really polite, but there's not nearly enough of them, I see them doing double duty on tasks and they just look plain out exhausted.
My advice to anyone: be wary of booking any hotel that was previously used as MIQ, and I think this one was one of the last to transition, which unfortunately makes it one of the worst.
