We arrived on the Coastal Pacific train, Julie offered to pick us up with our bags even though it is a very short walk to her beautiful property. She showed us the Main Street to get our bearings and then up to her property. We were in our room by 10.30am along with home made shortbread and Xmas cake. The views from the rooms are just amazing and our room spotlessly clean. With a map and advice on how to spend our day we were sorted. Comfy bed and oh so quiet. Would highly recommend. Wendy Marsom
We stayed here for 3 nights and we would say it was one of the best places we stayed on our 4 week trip. The room was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. The owner Julie was amazing and treated us so well. Her shortbread and muffins were legendary and a very welcome treat. I would definitely recommend this place for people to stay if they are visiting Kaikoura. The view from this property is amazing.
Bendamere House is a purpose-built luxury BandB. Excellent rooms with a great view over the ocean. The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. Kakoura is within easy walking distance of Bendamere House and has great whale/dolphin/seal watching tours available. Extremely highly recommended. We only had 2 nights in Kaikoura and would have easily extended our stay, if it had been possible.
We stayed for 2 nights in upper floor room. We traveled with another couple who booked the other room on upper floor. They share a very long balcony with perfect view of the harbor, which was ideal for enjoying an evening glass of wine together. The room was a very short walk to town, so it was very convenient for dinner. We did much research prior to booking, and research was spot on - this is a perfect choice.
We had a great overnight stay. We had a good size room with a very comfortable bed and a great shower. There was milk and home made biscuits and the usual tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast was very good and Julie sent us on our way with a large home baked muffin. But the most wonderful aspect of our stay was the view from our room and terrace. We could lie in bed and watch the sea, or sit on the terrace or lawn benches with stunning coastal scenery before us. We were a short walk from the station and high street. Would definitely stay there again.
