This motel had a sign on the road: 75 $ for a double room with beachview. We decide to book this room immediatly. Its a bit old fashioned, but the owners gave a good service. This motel with an excellent beach view is much cheaper than different other ones on the same boulevard. We had a nice stay for one night for a reasonable price! The motel nees to be renovated, but it was a smooth stay!
me and my husband were visiting kaikoura as our first destination while on our trip to the south island...its one of the most beautiful places where you enjoy the different moods of the sea....so many varied colours of water depending on the weather! we were staying at clear water motels for 2 nights. Bob and Terry....the owners with their son Siam were the most wonderful people we met! the motel is decent with the best location just across the sea....but the owners are fantastic! we had some problem regarding our rental car......but Bob and Terry helped us out and its because of them that our trip went really well! they took us to the whale watching site...dropped us there and also later came to pick us up....because we did not have a car then....... also their son Siam showed us their vegetable garden and was a very friendly kid! so we would like to thank Bob ,Terry ,Siam and also Mike who made this trip a great success! Mike was a great company and guide on our tour! We are writing this review for specially thanking Bob and Terry for their friendliness and warmth, helpfulness and hospitality Tejal and Hitesh…
My wife and I booked this Motel on line. The location is excellent right over the road from the ocean which great views. The owners were also very friendly. Here is the downside. The motel needs to be bulldozed. It is something out of the 1960's with paint peeling and there was the pull cord from the ceiling to turn on the light. The timber floors were squeaky and covered with old fashioned lino. The walls were paper thin, hearing the neighbours. The place was, however, clean, but not what we expected. In summary, the motel was cheap and you get what you pay for !
Next to a not very attractive pebble beach. Limited parking. Quiet, I could hear the waves at night. 20 minute walk into town centre where there is plenty of catering & shops. Accommodation basic. Lounge/kitchen, few utensils/crockery, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster. Small TV (limited stations) sofa, table & four chairs. Very small bathroom, just sink & shower. Separate WC. Soap provided no toiletries. Large bed limited storage. No maid service.
We went to Kaikoura races and needed a place to stay for the night. we pre-booked and when we arrived I was taken aback by the facade but hey NEVER JUDGE A BOOM BY IT'S COVER. We were a party of 3 in 2 rooms and The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Ned was comfy and the facilities very adequate for price paid. Only thing is the lack of milk in room or even the offer of milk would do.
