We had an awesome stay at the Kaikoura Holiday Homes house in South Bay. The house was modern and clean with plenty of space for our large group and great wrap-around balconies. Clean linen and towels were provided and the house is well equipped with kitchen and laundry. The location was a short drive from Kaikoura and key attractions including whale watching, and within walking distance of the water at South Bay.
Would recommend for any families or groups looking to visit Kaikoura.

Our first visit to Kaikoura so appreciated the location of this spacious house. Loads of room for the 3 of us, even with 5 weeks’ worth of luggage. Luckily we knew what the building looked like as no sign that we could see of the house name. Very easy parking and lovely flowers too. Everywhere inside was clean and well organised, lots of crockery and cutlery making using the dishwasher possible. We also used the washing machine, a great help on a long trip but as the weather was grey, a folding rack to put the clothes on would have been useful. When the sun came out, we used the line although on tip toe stretch for me! The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding offered warm/cool options. The bathroom worked and the shower was a pleasure. We liked the location because of it being situated between the seal colony and the town, a walk to either. A favourite aspect was the stunning beach, even on a drizzly day it was awesome. And visible from the living room window! Those settees are great, new, comfortable and huge. The recliner also was a hit, much enjoyed. Thanks very much for a lovely visit. Good value too for the size and quality of the accommodation.

One Word: unbelievable. Unbelievable location, unbelievable treatment, unbelievable experience. All in all everything and more you could ever wish from an airbnb. The host was amazing, friendly, approachable and kind. The home was spotless and the amenities present on arrival (heating was on, ice cubes in the fridge and the beds made) really made you feel welcome. The only down side is that we did not stay more days at this amazing home and incredible place. Not even the pictures serves the view justice.
If you think about it, book it! You won’t regret it!!

We stayed for 3 nights in apartment 9 at The Waves. There were many aspects of the apartment that we enjoyed and a few things we found could have been improved to make our stay better.
We found the apartment to be spacious, we only used the master bedroom with the ensuite. The kitchen had what we needed for light breakfasts and lunches, while we ate out for main meals. We appreciated the washer and dryer so as to keep up with dirty laundry while on our road trip. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view. We like to walk, amd it was nice walk in one direction to the shops and restaurants. One day we headed the other way for great meal at The Pier.
There is new construction going on right next door, and the work begins between 7 and 8 AM, so there was some early noise outside the bedroom window.
On arrival we felt the apartment was not quite as clean as it could have been and we could not access the wifi as we could not find the code in emails we received. We contacted KKHH and these issues were addressed quickly.

Fantastic communication, excellent value homes, twice we have had holiday homes in Kaikoura from Kaikoura Holiday Homes and both were spotlessly clean, faultless. Last visit we stayed in Chance Haven, beautiful comfortable home, the photos don’t do it credit, plenty of extras, comfortable beds, good log fire plus heat pump. Quiet and roomy back yard for our two dogs. Plenty of extra bedding if needed and oh so clean. Highly recommend Alison and her team at Kaikoura Holiday Homes, Alison was very accomodating as well. We stayed with friends at Middle Creek House. We were absolutely delighted with this property. I'm only reluctant to say this because we want to stay again & don't want it to be booked up! The website description & earlier reviews are all spot on in confirming that it's a wonderfully spacious house packed with everything you need & more. It's a few kms from Kaikoura so not suitable if you want to walk into town for food etc. But it's location is very private while having great views of the ranges. The fact each bedroom has an en suite is a real bonus. The patio has lots of seating + large table for outdoor dining & recreation. We will definitely stay again if sharing with friends.

We had a lovely couple of days in Kaikoura watching the dolphins and walking the peninsula. The apartment was very well equipped and had amazing views over the coast. 5 mins walk into town. Excellent cafe 2 mins away. Alison (the host) was very helpful and responded to enquiries quickly. Would definitely recommend to stay here.

Wonderful stay at Hideaway in South Bay Kaikoura. Well equipped and great location only a few minutes walk from the sea. Also about 5 minutes from the racecourse if you are visiting at that time. Fantastic view from the balcony and a neat little garden and off street parking. Staff were very helpful with requests for a bit more information. We were just one couple so the toilet in the bathroom did not bother us. If you are three couples you may struggle with this aspect. Lovely smart TV in the lounge of this property with freeview. Do check the HDMI cable is connected to the freeview box otherwise it may appear that it is not working. Beautiful property and we will be keen to stay here again.

We had a great weekend at the Beachfront Cottage Mangamaunu. Kaikoura Holiday Homes were great to deal with and very friendly. The Bach was everything we hoped it would be. It was clean and bright. The location was amazing and very private, great place to chill out with an easy stroll to the Beach. We encountered a very curious seal down on the Beach and even got a friendly wave from the Train Driver as we sat on the deck. No Wifi or cell reception was Bliss, however a short stroll down to the Beach got reception. We hope to come back :) Thank you Alison and team.

Stayed at Rimu Cottage. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. So grateful for places that are safe and welcoming for our dog, he seemed to enjoy his stay and even did some zoomies on the front lawn. Love the view of the snow-covered mountains!
