Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We checked-in at resort's bar what is reception as well. It was very welcoming in so relaxing environment with a lot of comfortable seating inside and outside.
Bar offers good coffee, refreshment and snacks what is very convenient. There is excellent golf pro shop as well.
In spite being earlier than official check-in time they let as in, as our room was ready. The room was clean and specious with amazing view. Bathroom was accessible for wheelchair users ( we didn't need it or asked for) and was very nicely fitted- not sure if all rooms are with the same bathroom category.
Receptionist book dinner for us in the town as we express our interest in testing famous local crayfish.
Highlight of ours stay is playing golf that exceeded our expectation. It is 9 holes course but most of the holes are between 300 and 400 m and course is in excellent conditions. There are golf equipment and electric golf cart for hire and free trundles.
After checking out we wanted to play another round and owner of the resort was very kind and told that we can enjoy playing as long as we want without any charge.
All together very highly recommended venue with excellent service.

Stayed here 1 night as part of our New Zealand trip organised by Trailfinders. We had a whale watching trip booked. It is situated a little way out of Kaikoura, and the rooms look out onto the golf course and the ocean beyond. As such it was very quiet. Parking was next to the accommodation building with a corridor between the car park and the room. It is a short drive into Kaikoura. There was a bar in the reception area. Breakfast in the room was included with our booking and was perfectly ok. I would be happy to stay here again if I was in the area.

We stayed at Koura Bay for two nights on our trip around South Island. We had free upgrade and we're impressed with the lodge which had get views across Golf Course to the sea. Breakfast is left in your fridge and I would not hesitate to recommend to others to stay.

Due to my 93 year old father being ill I had to cancel the booking. Warren said if they sold the room they would deduct 10 - 15% of the room fee out of my visa account. When I rang him the next day to see if the room had been booked, he said yes it had been booked but now he would be charging more than 15% , it would be more like 30%. After that he has deducted the full amount from my visa and to date 1 month later no money has been refunded. We have sent correspondence to him and no reply. To my mind Warren has sold the room twice and he had no empathy about my sick father .
I do not recommend this establishment.

A large well appointed room overlooking the 9 hole golf course, across farmland and native bush out to sea, with chairs on the verandah was a stunning start to our holiday. A very comfortable bed and good shower pressure was perfect after a round of golf (included in price). Would recommend and we look forward to coming back. Hope business picks up and someone wants to start the kitchen up again as dining/lounge room views are stunning

What a great surprise. This place was fantastic. The staff were welcoming and the room was fantastic. Great curtains which covers out the total light which is great if you need a sleep in. When you draw back the curtains, the sun blazes in to room allowing you a view over the go,f course down to the coast. The golf course was included in the price and it was fun and challenging.

This place is on a golf course, has beautiful view of the bay on one side and the mountain on the other. The view is simply gorgeous! The breakfast in the refrigerator for 20 NZ$ is a bit pricey for what you get. The toiletries are nice.

We stayed here for one night in March. Large room and a nice bathroom. Even had bath salts, which I took advantage of. The breakfast left something to be desired. We were there when all the cancellations started and I think they decided that it was easier to leave breakfast in the room than serve it in a dining room when only a few people were there. Warren was a kick—loved talking with him. He had good ideas for dinner, too. Would rate this a 4.5 only because of the breakfast.

We came across Koura Bay Lodge online and as the location and price were on point we went ahead and booked. What a great spot! Gorgeous views across the golf course towards the sea and township. Room was really comfortable and quiet. Loved the Ashley and Co products too!

We only stayed one night but it’s perfect for the golfer, you can stay here right on the course, they have buggies to get round,on your round of golf, amazing views of the water and snow peek mountains, the room is nice, sky tv, fridge, microwave, under floor heating in the bathroom. I think this place is not that old and will only get better with time. 10 minutes from Kaikoura town centre, well worth a look.
