This family operated motel has been the ideal location for many staying in Kaikoura and offers modern self sufficient rooms just minutes from the town centre and all the Kaikoura attractions overlooking the Kaikoura Township, coast and mountains. Our 24 rm Kaikoura Motel is ideally located, and is adjacent to New World and Kaikoura's Harakeke shopping complex, an easy walk through to the cafe scene and novelty shops one kilometre away. We have comfortable studio rooms with tea/coffee facilities suited to 2 people for a one to two night stay, spacious delux studios with kitchenette, sleep 3, suited to a multiple night stay and one and two bedroom spacious family units with kitchenette for 4-5 people. Conference facilities on site. Ample parking including coach parking. Free unlimited fibre internet. Guest laundry on site. Look out for the Iconic Lobster on the next door Tavern/Restaurant.

Im sorry you had a bad experience which I might point out is not the norm. As we dont know who you are and when you came through i cant comment on what occurred that night. Our managers are on site 24/7, noise is not tolerated after 10pm and if you had rung management im sure it would have been addressed. The Tavern is a locals bar which does not open late either. I do wish you had informed us of your issue at the time so it could have been dealt with.

I’m a regular guest at the Lobster inn , I’m there every two weeks and I’m always impressed at the friendly helpful service , the rooms are always spotless ,lovely comfortable beds, the owners care about providing old fashioned service and are always willing to help in any way. A good variety of meals can be enjoyed at the bar and restaurant with regular specials and additions to the menu. I travel extensively for my work , and have a good opportunity to critique South Island accomodation the Lobster Inn Kaikoura rates at the top of my preferred list .

We had a large group of us dine in upstairs for dinner and had the best time! Great music, fantastic food and even better service. Would highly recommend this place for a meal or function. Thanks for the awesome night guys, we will definitely be back!

Family of four with two teenagers stayed overnight. Very large room that was comfortable and clean and the room warmed up really quickly after we arrived (the weather wasn’t behaving for us!). Very friendly staff, will stay here again.

Great accomodation. Nice clean, tidy and well equipped room with plenty of space. Staff are very friendly. We had no complaints at all. Great eating options right there too with a great breakfast at chiwis.

Stayed here end Oct, room was comfy, on lower level, so enjoyed good nights sleep even with Pub pumping upstairs. Good amenities, nice friendly staff, location close to supermarket and the town. Very clean, no complaints, def would stay again.

Stayed one night during our tour around New Zealand as we were booked on a whale watch tour here. Basic but clean motel accommodation located on main road through Kaikoura. Ate at pub next door which was noisy but OK. Whale watch tour was amazing, saw two whales.

Large room with plenty of seating, self contained for those wanting to cook themselves, large comfortable bed, highly recommend. The only thing lacking was an air conditioner, I would definitely stay there again.

The motel is well located. studio room with a good balcony. Well maintained. Adequate parking.Continental breakfast is average. Housekeeping is efficient. They have a Tavern nearby with the same name. It was closed by the time we reached back in the night.Didn't bother us, as there were excellent restaurants open nearby

In comparing this motor lodge with others in New Zealand we stayed we found the room to be a bit small. Also the microwave in the room was not heating correctly. Room was clean and bed was comfortable but rooms not well sound proofed and felt exposed with full glass doors adjacent to pedestrian hallway.
