We stayed here on New Years Eve with our infant daughter. Safe to say this place was perfect! Our room was beautiful and super clean, lovely products in the bathroom from the local Lavendar farm. The outside was beautifully laid out and sunny with a great view of the mountains. Breakfast was delicious and our daughter loved seeing the animals! Thank you! Highly recommend!

Very friendly & knowledgeable host; very pet/animal-friendly with plenty on hand that you can feed/pet, incl pot-bellied pigs, alpacas, goats, pony, ducks, chickens! Located a mile or 2 north of main town of Kaikoura in a rural spot with great views all around. When we left Kevin gave us loads of excellent advice re our road trip, about N Island as well as S. Would stay here again.

An 8 acre farmstay, just off the road, north of Kaikoura. There are pigs, goats and alpacas and comfortable rooms. Great views of the Kaikoura range from the house. Just 7 minutes away from the town centre yet in a rural setting. Kevin is a wonderful host and humourous to boot. He and his son Liam have just taken the property over from the previous owner. We stayed here 2 nights, and if you have the opportunity to do so, do stay here! Kaikoura is a lovely place and Awatea is a perfect base for the area if you have a car.
