Although the motel is not on the main road like most of the others in Hokitika it is a great location in a residential area and very quiet. The train line to the dairy factory is not as close as it is to other motels. We walked in to town in about 10-15 minutes or it is a less than 5 minute drive. This is a very tidy, high quality, yet not over priced, motel. The units are spacious with a large lounge and separate bedroom. Really good to have a full range of Sky TV channels and excellent, high speed, easy to use internet connection. Very comfortable bed and really good lighting in both lounge and above bed for reading. We both enjoyed a great shower. Kitchen well stocked. Extra little touches were the plunger coffee and pot and toilet spray in the bathroom. Also liked the glass on top of the bedside cabinets.
Friendly, helpful owner who provided an excellent recommendation of the Pioneer Hotel for a pub style evening meal and we got a discount on our food too!

After travelling almost the length and breath of the Sth Island and staying in a few questionable hotels; it was an absolute delight to have stayed here.
We only stayed for an afternoon/night and rented a two bedroom unit. The rooms are clean and well provisioned with cooking facilities and utensils.
The laundry is open all the time and the machines are easy to use, $2.00 coins.
We booked our accomodation online and was greeted by Simon at reception. He is a font of knowledge and suggested a local pub for dinner ( Pioneer) and recommended Traditional Jade Co for NZ Jade.

We stayed in the disability wheelchair friendly unit #7. The grab bar for the toilet is on the left. The shower grab bar is mounted on the wall with controls for the handheld shower. The hotel provides a shower stool but we brought our own. The unit is roomy with enough room for belongings. There is a separate bedroom with a double bed and a single bed in the living area. There is also a kitchenette with a refrig and hot plate and microwave. Everything was very livable and worked for our needs. We appreciated the guest laundry. The owner was very helpful in pointing out things to do in the area. The hotel is located off the main road in a quiet residential area. We appreciated the location Should our travels lead us to Hokitika again, we would definitely stay here again

1 bedroom unit very warm and clean, comfy beds and awesome shower. Great value for money and proper milk was a amazing bonus. Hosts were very helpful and the guest laundry was very handy after a damp day exploring.

Stayed at the Annabelle Motel for one night in December.
Check in and out were easy and our stay was problem free.
Plenty of parking outside each room.
The one bedroom family unit was large and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Only let downs was the room and furnishings were somewhat dated in comparison to other hotels we stayed at.
A little far from the Hokitika beachfront and dining precint (if you want to have a few drinks), about 20 minute walk (ok if not raining). Very short drive though if not indulging.
Highlight was Hokitika Gorge that is a 30 min drive away from the hotel (eachway).

We stayed here 2 nights. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was a “One bedroom family unit”; it was clean and a nice size. Decent size kitchenette was well equipped but with no oven. Bathroom is adequate size and modern, but the shower enclosure could use re-caulking. Queen Bed was comfortable and we used the adjacent twin bed for our suitcases. The whole place could use more hooks for hanging up coats, although there is a small closet with hangers in the living room. Couches in the living room were comfortable but were dated. Nice laundry facilities convenient to all rooms.

Great comfortable place to stay on your way through Hokitika. It was VERY quiet at night.

This motel is just a wee gem tucked away from the noisy main road with super clean and welcoming rooms. Simon and Jill are super hosts who always make everyone feel so welcome. I would highly recommend stopping here to rest and relax or recharge before you take on more of Te Tai Poutini

We stayed here 3 nights during a South Island bike trip. It is bike friendly, clean quiet modern and has an enclosed courtyard.. The unit was serviced daily and the manager/owner was helpful and friendly. Location was ideal for us while riding the Wilderness Trail which was only 1 block away and about 1km from town. The unit had a huge lounge area but the carpet had some wrinkles which indicated a replacement was due. We were happy with our stay, pricing was moderate.
Would we recommend this. Yes very much so.

Stayed here for 1 night as family. Decent sized room. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Nice to have a little 300ml bottle of fresh milk provided as checked in for use with tea/coffee. Would happily stay here again and recommend to others
