Following a wonderful stay 5 years ago, we had no hesitation in booking a return visit when travelling the west coast. Frances and Brian are the perfect hosts and gave us a warm welcome with tea and shortbread biscuits in the shared lounge. The b&b is an historical building with information about the illustrious previous owners and old photographs decorating the walls of the hall and lounge. It is situated in the town centre with all restaurants and shops close by. Our downstairs room had a brand new extended length king sized bed which was super comfortable to sleep in. The Hopkins room would be suitable for a disabled person with its wet floor spacious bathroom. Lots of white towels and luxurious toiletries were gratefully enjoyed. An evening glass of port or sherry was…
Lovely room, very comfortable bed. Everything you needed, great attention to detail. Fantastic breakfast. Beautifully laid table . Ou hosts, Brian and Francis made us so welcome and helped us plan a very interesting morning at Hokitika Goege.
Only stayed one night, but wished I had stayed longer. The hosts were most accomodating going above and beyond all expectations. They offered hot/cold beverages and visited with the guests and made them all feel welcome. Breakfast was second to none. I would definitely come back and stay at this Bed and Breakfast. They were amazing hosts.
Stayed in the Garden Cottage and spent 2 wonderful nights there. Like what they have done with the garden, very interesting. Brian and Frances were excellent hosts. Spending the early evenings in the garden with the other guests discussing our day, determining where to go for the evening meal and deciding what to do the next day was so enjoyable. Brian, the perfect host. He kept us constantly supplied with liquid refreshments and he and Frances were excellent in advising us on where to go and what to see. The breakfasts were filling and very good. Will go back there again and would recommend it to anyone.
We recently stayed for two nights in the Garden Cottage at Teichelmann’s B&B. This is going to sound like a “broken record,” but previous reviewers have it just right! The garden at Teichelmann’s is a secret delight and the Garden Cottage is the perfect place to enjoy it! The Cottage itself is very comfortable, with a comfortable bed and an upscale bath. The breakfasts are ample and delicious! Most importantly, however, Frances and Brian are just incredibly gracious hosts, constantly doing things to make their guests more comfortable! Highly recommended!
