Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We love staying at Stations Inn! The rooms are spotless and they are of a generous size, they have a beautiful, quiet rural outlook, and if you’re lucky you get to sit outside and watch the sun set on a gorgeous night. Showers are great, and bathroom is plenty big enough. The motel is a very short drive from Hokitika township but well away from traffic noise. Try the on-site restaurant if staying, the melas are outstanding.

Very friendly welcome on arrival with immediate access to a wonderfully warm room given that they had put the heating on in anticipation of our arrival. A very generous sized room complete with comfortable furnishings including a large bed, sofa, and a good-sized writing desk. The room was beautifully decorated and offered a fabulous view over farmland to the coast. Provided an excellent guest compendium and Wi-fi service. While located out in the country, about a ten-minute drive from the township, its location was perfect for allowing one to simply relax at the end of each day's activities. I already have plans for a return visit.

A beautiful motel overlooking open countryside and the sea with spectacular sunsets. The owners are wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The units are clean and serviced daily. Glenda kindly provided us with ice each day so we could enjoy our gin and tonics on the terrace whilst watching the stunning sunsets.

We only wished the restaurant was open as we had heard amazing things about the steak and lamb. But like so many West Coast businesses the shortage of staff has had a dramatic affect on their ability to provide a full service.

We would gladly come again.

We were welcomed by the friendly, obliging host who lives onsite. Our studio room was spacious, light, modern, well maintained, with tasteful quality decor and spotlessly clean.
The view from the unit is relaxing and calming. Alpacas, cows and sheep are visible from the unit with the Tasman Sea in the distance. The sunsets were magnificent.
An onsite restaurant provides a range of dishes with generous portions.
This is high recommended high quality accommodation.

We stayed in an accessible room for my handicapped wife. The room was clean and comfortable. Stations Inn is on a plateau above the town, which gives a view of Tasman Sea as well as the Southern Alps. It is surrounded by scenic green pasture with alpacas, and is very quiet. The Milky Way is visible on clear nights. I would recommend this hotel for its comfort and accessible amenities.

A perfect sanctuary to spend a few days on the drive down the West Coast.

The room was very comfortable and had a beautiful outlook towards the sea. The available continental breakfast was one of the best I had while travelling in the South Island.

Glenda, the host, is lovely and welcoming. She is available to provide whatever assistance is required.

We ate at the restaurant and had a delicious meal with a beautiful outlook.

Highly recommend staying here when visiting Hokitika.

The location is so idyllic, peaceful, with the most amazing tranquil views and beautiful
hosts. The sunsets alone are a reason to stay here.

The rooms are so spacious and the beds are comfy, with a great shower as well.

Make sure you check out their restaurant it is to die for!!!!

The room was very nice and a good size. They also left in our room a continental breakfast. The restaurant and grounds were excellent. The location was just out of Hokitika with elevation and views out to sea.
Very quiet and a farm like setting surround.

The owners were very accommodating, helpful and the place was clean and tidy. Glenda was especially great, helping me retrieve something left behind. Went well above and beyond! The Inn is on a hill overlooking a lovely Alpaca farm and you can see the sea in the distance! Would stay here again if ever in the area

Loved staying at the Stations Inn. The room was spacious and clean with everything you should need for a comfortable stay. Small well appointed kitchenette, comfy bed, and the large bathroom with heated floor was great to step onto in the morning! I also loved the outdoor terrace and lovely views. Being away from the township in a rural setting it was so fabulously quiet and I enjoyed watching the Llamas in the paddock beyond the complex.
