We stayed at the Nest, small accomodation just near the house, which was a lovely gem. Maureen is a super host and was so helpful and couldn't be more accomodating. The unit is clean and has lovely linens and the added bonus of an outside bath, perfect for luxuriating with a glass of red as the sun went down....wonderful! It...

Last minute booking for a night away from Christchurch, stayed at "The Nest", by the main house. Tidy little cabin, outdoor bath and shower were amazing. No one else was at the glamping site so got to go for a wander to check out the river and the tent, making plans to get back there when possible! Hosts were lovely,...

We had a lovely time at this glamping site. We cooked over a fire (there was gas), and bathed outdoors. Plenty to do nearby, or just spend time relaxing. (We visited the Treetop Walk). No cellphone reception was a bonus. We would highly recommend trying this type of holiday.

We had the most amazing, romantic honeymoon getaway canopy camping at Hurunui Jacks. It was wonderfully private and serene - no electricity or phone reception! The outdoor bath in the wilderness was fantastic. There's everything you could ever need...just bring food & drink and you're all set. Bring limited perishables however as there's just an esky (or chilly bin as...

If you are biking from Cowboy Paradise, Hurunui Jacks is an essential stop for coffee or more. Maureen the host will give you a warm welcome and lots of very good hot coffee. Ideally located to ease your journey.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Communication with the hosts was good prior to our arrival. The cabin was quaint and stocked with essentials. The homemade yogurt and jams were super tasty and a nice touch. Nature abounded outside. Unfortunate we were just staying overnight and didn't get to enjoy the surrounding area. The gnats were pretty fierce so be...

We only stayed for one night in this lovely tranquil spot. Others have written of the food and the detailed care given to this little shack in the woods and I fully endorse them. Weather turned very wet whilst we were there but the shower in the garden was still a delight and I had a Forest robin with me...

We stayed at the nest for two nights, loved the luxurious simplicity. So much thought has gone into the details - fresh home made yoghurt, jams, jars of muesli, fresh coffee, fresh fruit.....fantastic. Outside shower with birdsong (and insects!). We loved it.

I stayed at Hurunui Jacks, in The Nest, while I was visiting Greymouth and Hokitika during a business trip. I highly recommend Hurunui Jacks for a quiet and relaxing getaway, still there is plenty to see and do if that's what you want. It was good to relax in NZ paradise, an escape from the hustle and bustle. John and...

We stayed in ‘The Nest’ for three nights over the Christmas weekend and loved every minute. John and Maureen are wonderful hosts, full of knowledge and advice and always happy to have a chat. The little bach was just perfect, clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed. They really have thought of everything – board games, books and gumboots...
