We stayed in one of the beachfront units - they were really comfy, had a nice deck (although it was shared with the unit next to us) where we sat out, drank wind and watched the sunset. Has some nice little touches as well with the farm animals on site and the glowworms across the road. Given the price and location would highly recommend as a good spot to stay in Hokitika.
An excellent stay thanks- beautiful setting looking out on to and listening to the pounding waves. The owners could not have been more solicitous. We deliberately had no car and therefore exercised well by walking to cafes and biking to treetops walk
We stayed here in the spa cabin for the final night of our road trip and found it very peaceful and relaxing. Cabin is well appointed and comfortable with bathroom, kitchen, and lounge downstairs and bedroom upstairs. Spa bath is big enough for two. There is a huge heatpump which would make the place comfortable in any weather. I'm already planning a return trip with a longer stay in this cabin - a relaxing one, just roaming the beach during the day and falling asleep listening to the pounding ocean at night.
Stayed 1 night at the Shining Star in a small cabin with ensuite. The room was a good size for the night and nice and clean but only had basic cooking facilities so went to the communal kitchen however it didn't have an oven so tried to cook our dinner on the BBQ which didn't go so well. Overall good value for money
We stated in a small cabin with ensuite. Loved our little abode, plenty big enough for us. Our daughter loved the animals right outside our front door, added bonus the glow worm Dell over the road and a very short walk to the beach. Cabin lovely and warm, super comfy beds and loved the shower water pressure. Beautiful clean amenities, thank you 😁
