A lovely place. The B&B is run by a husband and wife team. The owners were friendly and were quick to offer suggestions of sights to see in the area. The owner even called and set up reservations at one of the local restaurants for us, The B&B was amazingly decorated. It even contained a billiard room and a hot tub. There was an upstairs common room that would be the envy of anyone to have their own home. Our room was the Balcony Room which was very large and the balcony gave a great view of the surrounding area. There was a hot and cold breakfast which provided multiple options. The breakfast was delicious.
We spent a fantastic night at Oak Lodge. Our room was superb as were the owners. Breakfast was excellent and we loved our visit and conversations with the owners who passed on really useful local knowledge.
The owners are genuinely concerned that guests have a great stay. Giving lots of helpful information about the surrounding area. We stayed in the poppy room which had a ensuite shower room. Everything was spotlessly clean. Bed comfortable, two chairs in the room as well as tv. Guests also have use of a guest lounge with kitchenette to make drinks etc. Lots of hot water for showers. Breakfast was delicious, cereal, fruit, toast and cooked selection which is ordered the night before so they can be sure they can provide for guests needs. Sheep surround the grounds and can be fed by prior arrangement. Wonderful house decorated to a high standard, clean and comfortable what more could you want?
As family, we stayed in the cottage as well as in a guestroom. The beds were alright. The bathroom of the inhouse guestroom was across the corridor which was ok for us. There is a lounge where you can enjoy free coffee and tea. The cottage has a washing machine and a kitchenette. Yet, the wifi wasn’t working well there. The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed staying there for a night. Thanks a lot to our friendly and welcoming hosts.
This accommodation is out of town and set back from the road so quiet. The hosts Alistair & Shirley gave us a very warm welcome. Our room was spacious and we could watch TV from seating rather than from our beds. There is a common lounge with kitchen/dining facilities so we were able to prepare an evening meal with food we had brought rather than venture out into the rain again. Next morning we helped to feed the sheep and collect eggs from the henhouse before tucking into a wonderful breakfast: Shirley’s zucchini and corn fritters were amazing. She gave us some of her delicious home-made muffins to take with us.
