Two days at Dunollie and we were smitten. We wanted a classic west coast experience and we got it here in spades. From the warm welcome in the pub from some of the locals as we checked in, to the characters living in the local town, the stories stretching back to the old coal mining and gold mining days. The awesome advice on an old coal mining bike trail out the back, how to find greenstone on the beach and the delicious food cooked by the lovely local chef. The pub attracts many locals and it is busy as the old country pubs used to be. We miss that so much up north. Awesome
We ate dinner here tonight, yummy comforting pub food. I had shrimp cocktail and my partner had fish and chips. Substantial meals that we were happy with, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Pub not far from the motel we were staying in near Rapahoe.
Wife and I dined Sat 12 Jun - chose scallop main - best we have ever tasted ; even more so given we understand - chef had been employed fir two days + this was her first attempt at the scallop dish . Entre was also most enjoyable . Service matched quality of the food
Went here for dinner on a Sunday night. Staff were amazing. Went above and beyond with service. The Landlady was just great. Food was beautiful and the locals made us feel at home. Awesome people. An absolute pleasure and a must if passing through. Highly recommended. Thanks to everyone.
We found this pub by mistake, but they made our trip, really good food, cheap drinks, free pool, good music and friedly guests! Their food is cooked with local products which is amazing when you can eat that and also have a beer with the fisherman who caught that fish or the farmer who grew that lettuce. Amazing! I definetly recommend it for everyone!
