Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just outside the town, on arrival you wonder where you happened to be but the cottages inside are super clean spacious and equipped with everything you need. Parking available in front of the cabin. Cheap prices for truly lovely personal location. A nice discovery

Lovely modern facilities - heaps of little extras that made this motel unit so special.
Good beds and pillows. Only negative is that the motel is adjacent to the main road - traffic noise quite constant - ear plugs supplied in each room.
The motel is only a few kms north of Greymouth.

This quirky motel is located not far from Greymouth on SH6 heading towards Westport. Lady at reception was very friendly, and gave good directions to our unit. Unit while clean, stank to high heaven. It was very very musty, and even with every window open, it still was a bit high.

The rooms were very spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Ultimately good value for money, but oh that musty smell, I can still smell it now!

Was difficult to rate a score for this motel because the tariff was reasonable for what it is. It’s old school, bed should be replaced, and the noise from the highway drove us mad. (Free ear plugs supplied but I can’t sleep with plugs in my ears.) It’s well equipped, roomy, even had a sitting room. Free washing machine and dryer, undercover parking. It’s got a kitchen. But it couldn’t be described as modern. It’s more like what my grandmother’s house was like in the seventies, clean but old. For $120 you get what you pay for, with that in mind the cost matched the service.

We stayed here for two nights stayed in unit 2 which fortunately had a carport, perfect for wet weather. We were traveling with our small dog which is house trained and sleeps in a crate. The unit had 1 bedroom with a queen bed very comfortable and a single bed. It had a well equipt kitchen and a comfortable lounge. Very friendly staff. Was a little noisy due to traffic but would definitely stay again.

Ok so we arrived in Greymouth late in the day, had a search online for good places to stay and this was up there. Rang and spoke with exceptionally friendly folk, booked prior to arrival. The room we were given was right on SH6, hmmm, road noise was dreadful. In the morning we found some earplugs in a bedside drawer - wish they’d been found earlier. Facilities were pretty good, but the bed/mattress was super squashy, room was really clean. OK, but we won’t be back, sorry.

Stayed on cold frosty days but took ages for the rooms to heat up. Nice amount of space. Liked that it had a separate kitchen with a door (could close door to keep out toddler!). But high roof in lounge and bathroom made it difficult to heat up. Wasn't sure if there was a smoke alarm either but no one there on key drop off/check out to discuss with. Bedrooms were quite small but overall with lounge/dining  a good amount of space. "Playground" is a swing set in the garden. Well equipped kitchen.

This was a funny little motel...........first to get to the rental office, you have to drive over a tiny bridge that looks as though it won't hold a car. Then you meet the host, a tiny, old woman who has problems walking! The room itself was really inexpensive and really large.............it had a bedroom, a bath, kitchenette, living room, it was almost a small apartment. It has a cover for the car and at night there is a million stars to be seen! It smelled kind of musty and there were cobwebs, but that was all harmless for the cost and space.

Stayed there December 2012. This was the worst place I stayed in new Zealand. They advertise spa and pool facilities. But that is a myth. There is a sign up saying pool closed for season. I doubt if this pool has been open for years. The picture of the pool on their website must be 10 years old. There are weeds growing in the pool. It is a cess pit not a pool. The rooms are comfortable and spacious enough. But the complex has an insect laden marsh section right up against the rear of the building. The busy main road is almost on top of the front of the buildings so much so that passing trucks (which pass throughout the night) sound like they are coming through the walls.

It is well outside the town and has little to offer really.

I hate false advertising, their promotional stuff is just that.

Other than that I enjoyed New Zealand and I liked Greymouth.

I just saw this motel whole arriving to Greymouth by car and I decided to stop. The room was unfortunately rather close to the road and was a bit noisy.
It has all the facilities required. But I would not stay there again, because if the noise.
