Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay last night. This was a great choice for accommodation in Greymouth. Very cosy, and had everything we needed. The spa bath was a real highlight for us! And the bed was super comfortable. The accommodation was also clean and pleasant to look at and there were thoughtful added comforts :)

This is a lovely motel which surpassed our expectations. The owner, Roger, could not have been more helpful - he picked us up and dropped us off at the railway station - which made a big difference to us. He also gave us some good recommendations for dinner, The room was impeccably clean, with lots of nice little extras, which make you feel looked after. Finally, if you have an early start there's a really nice Bakery and Coffee shop just across the road.

We were greeted by Carol who was so friendly! We were very surprised at how large our room was! So nice to have some extra space to spread out. Great to have a guest laundry & very clean. Easy parking at the front of our unit. Comfortable bed, 3 way bathroom , handy little kitchenette

Welcoming host Roger who was very helpful. Really nice and comfortable room. Comfy bed. Separate loo. 30 minute stroll to town centre but plenty of local restaurants. Recommend Buccleugh's just up the road. Beach nearby. Supermarket also nearby.

The owners of this place are lovely! Unfortunately I don't recall their names (Rodger?), but my sister and I were greeted by the most enthusiastic and friendly bloke who personally walked us to our room and advised us where we could go for dinner, where the supermarket is and gave us some milk for the fridge. He was cracking jokes and smiling and laughing and it was a very nice and genuine welcome. Everything was great. Beds were comfortable, split system air conditioning worked well, cute little kitchenette, nice and clean bathroom. Nothing negative to say. 5 stars

Stopped here for a couple nights on our South Island road trip, and we couldn’t have been more fortunate. Carol and Roger are lovely hosts who provide such a thoughtfully designed base to visit Greymouth and Punakaki / Pancake Rocks. We appreciated their recommendations - Monteith’s is a must visit for food and brews, and the beach just past the air strip is lovely at morning & at sunset. Roger was even kind enough to show us around their classic Wolseley auto 😍 There are Tesla chargers onsite, a washer & dryer available from 2-9pm (NZ$10 for wash and dry), and nice in-room amenities including wireless charging bedside. Would absolutely book again on our next visit to Greymouth.

My husband and I stayed four nights as he did a couple of bike rides and were very impressed with the 1 bedroom unit we stayed in. The bed was very comfotable, great shower pressure, lots of room and extremely clean. Carol and Roger are friendly and knowledgeable offerring advice on places to eat and tips on what to see. They were willinging to give a spare towel in case it was needed at the end of the bike ride. We would certainly stay here if we come to Greymouth again
