Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel is located out of the city of Greymouth so quiet and nice setting but you need a vehicle to get around especially if it is raining. Their on-site restaurant is closed on Saturday and Sunday so the closest option is up the block. Otherwise you need a cab or car ride.Rooms are spacious and well appointed but no elevator for second floor. Staff was very friendly and helpful!!!!!

We booked our room at short notice; the receptionist told us that no rooms were available but on booking.com there were! After some lengthy “discussions “, he agreed that there was a room free - which we took. This is a hotel totally oriented to large groups; I don’t recommend it for individual travelers. Clean rooms, but no charm, very limited service; triggers a feeling like in a train station. We were happy to leave the next morning.

This is an older property but is clean and comfortable. Working away often sleep badly but the bed was comfortable and gave me a solid nights sleep. The bathroom is really where the rooms show their age, but are functional and clean. We ate at the restaurant and the food was ok but not great, the burger was quite bland and crème brûlée had a soft chewy top which was different, the fish and chips were good though.

Nice hotel with comfortable beds. Average bathroom. Quite a step up into the shower which is not the best for retirees. We prefer walk-in showers for the safety aspect. Could to with a spruce up. Outside being repainted when we were there. Good restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff. A little bit far out of town. Needed a taxi to get into town.

Great place. Older premise but in great condition. Very large, warm rooms. Staff exceptional. Had a heater problem, sorted very, very quickly, even offered another room. Quiet, close to town & restaurants.

This is an oldish property which has had extensive renovations to bring it up to a modern standard and overall they have made a pretty decent job. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are modern. No air conditioning is present so in summer rooms get quite warm but the fan supplied keeps the temperature to an okay level. There is plenty of free parking behind the hotel and kerbside in front and the place has a nice restaurant but it was not open when we were there due to the Covid downturn I assume. By no means a great hotel but more than acceptable none the less.

We found the motel unit clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our family. We enjoyed the spa, which was a short distance away. However, the unheated pool proved a bit too cold for us. We left our windows slightly open while sleeping and enjoyed being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean. The on-site restaurant is a bonus, which we probably would have used if travelling without children, as this had been highly recommended. We found this a great location and an excellent choice for a family stay. The staff we interacted with were all very pleasant.

We stayed in an Executive Suite. The room was small and dark but the bed comfortable. Linen was clean. Our room was right next to the fire doors which was noisy, especially in the evening. The shower needed a good clean with bleach, otherwise the room was clean. We were rudely woken early by staff outside our room having a full on personal conversation in loud voices. Very inconsiderate to guests and highly unprofessional! Not somewhere I’d return to.

The room was a bit dark as it looked out to an nearby building. However the bathroom lighting was excellent but the bathroom needs some upgrading to match the nicely decorated bedroom. All the staff were very attentive and seemed committed to their jobs. Plenty of free parking on the street opposite the hotel.
