Detailed Reviews
Our group of 14 friends recently completed the West Coast Wilderness Trail and stayed at the Scenicland Motels the night before we commenced our ride. Without exception, we were all delighted with our stay here. Michelle was very easy to communicate with and had a very helpful and flexible attitude during the uncertainty of COVID 19 when planning our trip. She extended an extremely warm welcome to us all on our arrival, our units were all cosy and beautifully presented, she provided transport into town the next morning prior to us starting the cycle ride and provided free parking for some of our cars after we had left. This made an effortless start to a wonderful cycle ride and our group would highly recommend staying at these motels.

This motel is just two doors away from the new world supermarket (Btw , if you are a tourist , remember to get a tourist card from the supermarket cashier - gives you about 5%discount ).
Parking is just outside the motel room . Ours had a queen size bed and a single bed . There is a high table . TV was present . There was a toaster , microwave oven , fridge but no stove Top. Heating also available .
Bathroom was roomy with a shower and basin .
Owner was extremely pleasant and helpful .
I would have given this motel a five if there was good wifi . Unfortunately wifi was intermittent and almost unusable .

Booked based on reviews and they were accurate. Michelle welcomed us and showed us to our room , explained everything and advised re what was around us e.g restaurants and supermarket -excellent service. The room was large, had a super king bed which was great, huge bathroom, had everything we required, but the main thing was it was super clean! The reviews are correct -the level of cleanliness is superb, I could not fault it. We highly recommend this motel, the exterior which is not so modern hides a very modern , clean , and comfortable interior. And a great location as a bonus .

The most spacious motel accomodation we had in our sth island tour. Very helpful and accomodating proprietor. Price very reasonable for a large 1 bedroom unit with living /dining room, all kitchen needs, dining table, TV with 50+ channels. Free and fast wifi. Conveniently right behind New World supermarket. Enjoyed our stay here, would stay here again without hesitation. Scenicland greymouth was the best value for money accommodation we had throughout the NZ south Island. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed 3 nights in an executive room with a super king bed (great), spotlessly clean and wonderful service from owner Michelle. We were able to walk to AgFest, the big show on last weekend. We appreciated the Scenicland link with Monteiths and 10% discounts we took advantage of, especially a shuttle service. (I would have liked a jug or bowl for heating in the microwave and maybe a carving knife - minor points.) TV sound not too good but excellent free wifi. We will be back.

This motel was easy to locate and we were greeted warmly at check in. There was a good sized parking space outside the room. The room was large with a breakfast bar, large double bed and single bed with an armchair too which was a bonus. The kitchen area had a microwave, toaster, kettle etc and we were given fresh milk on arrival. The bathroom was large and spacious. Supermarkets and fast food places are nearby and it is a 20 minute walk to the beach, well worth it for sunset. We were impressed with this motel but the internet was very poor and blipped on and off frequently, hence the Very Good 4 score and not Excellent 5 score.

My plan was to stay here, visit Punakaiki to the north, and then drive south on the West Coast of New Zealand to see the glaciers. Great plan, but the West Coast highway had flooded, so I couldn't get to the glaciers. The Scenicland was a typical motel - everything worked fine and it was a good value. There was a restaurant within a five minute walk, and a large, well-stocked supermarket even closer. All in all, it met my needs for a quick stopover.

We stayed in an executive king apartment (room 10) with a huge king bed, full kitchen including oven, separate bedroom and great sized bathroom. New World Supermarket is almost right next door, so handy if you are cooking in your unit.
Comfortable lounge with two couches. It’s a great set up and the guest laundry is directly opposite.
The host here was exceptional, she couldn’t have been more helpful.
Highly recommended quiet stay.
