The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Good bed and quite well laid out room but very old fashioned and very basic. Access is only from one direction as the motel is located on the main highway with an official no right turn so you may have to go around a long block to get into the driveway. Road noise is also a problem so you'd be well advised to ask for a room back from the road. Despite that - good value for money.

We had cause to find a motel after arriving in Whangarei rather late in the evening and chose Cherry Court Motor Lodge simply as it was the first one we saw.

The owner was most friendly, obliging and sympathetic to two weary travelers. As it was late and the motel was almost full he gave us a discount which was a nice touch.

The rooms at Cherry Court are fairly basic but clean and spacious. We thought they were pretty good value . Beds were firm and comfortable, each room has a basic hot plate arrangement and good shower/bathroom. All was very clean. Well off street parking is significant to the security conscious traveller

The location of this property was on the main highway through Whangarei and road noise was a little problem with truck brake noise noticable on a downhill grade. It is certainly no major problem that dropped off with the traffic later in the night

We didn't have breakfast next morning so can't comment on that.

All up a pretty good standard of accomodation at a reasonable price with friendly management which is always most appreciated. Would be happy to recoomend or stay again.

The room was tidy and complete with everything we needed. The host was very accommodating even though we were later than expected. I thought this motel offered value for money and was very easy to find.

This hotel was part of our go kiwi vouchers - it was very run down - the rooms where very noisy and the motel is not in walking distance to the town centre. On the plus side the room was clean. The bathroom was extremely small and the water pressure terrible. The staff where helpful and lovely

Thank you for your review. We are sorry about the road noise, but we have hush proof glass in the windows and are wondering if you closed them. About the dated interior, we're modifying the room gradually. Kind regards, Jowen & Heana

This motel is lovely. It’s located on the main road, but is well protected from the street noise by greenery. The rooms are self-contained and well furnished. Cooking facilities are great and there are plenty of cutlery, crockery and utensils. The full-size fridge and Sky with a full range of channels including movies are definitely a bonus. The bed is comfy enough to get a good night sleep although once we did get woken up early in the morning by some inconsiderate guests. Overall, it's a great place to stay in Whangarei.

when we arrived the hosts told that as we were staying for four nights, they had upgraded us. There were only two of us but we had a massive room that slept 5 including a separate bedroom. The room was very spacious and seemed to have been updated with new furnishings, crockery etc. Unfortunately this motel is right on the main road, as are virtually all the motels in Whangarei, and the room's bedroom backed onto the main road. Although there is a high fence and plenty of bushes in between and because we wanted the window open, not much sleep as had due to traffic. We didn't complain about this but happened to mention it in passing to one of the cleaners who unbeknownst to us, told the owners. They offered to move us to one of the units furthest away from the road. This we accepted and they moved everything for us, we just had to pack up. The noise was reduced. The only unfortunate thing about our new room was that there wasn't a power point within reach of a mirror so difficult to see what you're doing with your hairdryer.

Standard type of motel easy access to hiway but a fair distance from the town centre. All normal facilities , clean, comfortable but can be noisy since rooms are next to the road.
Staff very helpful and obliging

Rooms were very clean but were nothing fancy. Bathrooms were a little dated but overall it was a good stay. It can get noisy at night so just make sure your windows are shut tightly. Hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. Free internet was a bonus.

I dont rate this motel to much. Nice spa pool, you are allowed half an hour. Lots of street noise, needs double glazing. Clean and tidy.

This is an older motel but it has been well maintained and is kept very clean. The couple that own the motel where very friendly and helpful. The motel is on the main highway through town, and our room was on the street side so there was some traffic noise. At night we just closed the street side windows and we didn't really notice it after that. Its not that busy of a highway that there was too much traffic at night anyway. We stayed here for 4 nights while touring Northland. We would stay here again. Great value.
