One night stay in Whangarei. The host was really accommodating given he hadn't planned to be open. Good set up in the building with a shared common area, kitchen with tea and coffee facilities and a private room with ensuite. And a sensational bed, super comfy. All within an easy stroll of the CBD and waterfront.

The Owners, Rob & Pauline were very good hosts. They came across as extremely courteous, polite and certainly professional in a job they are passionate about. It was pretty clear they pay attention to minor details and are always willing to give any visitor the BEST info needed in addition to the wide selection of brochures and flyers readily available. YOU will not be disappointed with your stay at this homely place located in the heart of the city. Overall--8/10

Situated near the Basin area (where Whangarei all happens),it may be easy to miss as one drives by, but it is well worth not doing so! The room was a decent size, without being huge, and next to a large communal sittingroom which had a large TV, kitchen facilities, a table and chairs, sofa and armchairs etc etc and was generally very well appointed (inc milk in the fridge and all types of tea inc Earl Grey). Back to our room - it had aircon, a large room fan as well as opening windows. The bathroom was sizeable and very well appointed with a good shower, good quality towels, washers, numerous bottles of body wash, etc etc. Dressing gowns were provided as well as all the usual irons, ironingboards, etc. The quality of all the appurtenances was above that usually provided and made the place stand out. Friendly and helpful staff.

went up to Whangarei to catch up with some old Army buddy's of mine, Found on the internet easy, so just a click and we had the accommodation done. Place was easy to find, very easy to park and not far from the centre of the town. Our unit had a spa within it as well which was put to good use, showers were very good as well , Shower head could be changed to make different jets work. Found that to be awesome. Each room had a large TV within as well as a lounge area had a bigger one which was used to watch when we just won against the S.A. rugbyteam early sun morning.

Location is excellent - walking distance to the Basin and the City centre. Very clean and a superb evening view off the balcony over the river. The accommodation is 2 separate rooms with shared lounge/kitchen/dining facilities (although there are small tv's in the rooms if that floats your boat) The hostess is fantastic.

I think I have been coming for 9 years now and staying at the same place. We are onto our 2nd owned now who are just as friendly and the accomodation cared for as the previous ones. Thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay. Wonderful location close to town and close to yachting harbour

We had stayed here many years ago and were pleased to find it as good as then. Facilities are very good with the lounge area a real bonus...comfortable, Sky TV [inc Sky Sports] nice balcony and good views. Bedroom and bathroom were very well appointed and very clean. Hosts were very helpful but not intrusive. We would certainly stay again.

We arrived in Whangarei after a long drive from Tauranga and this was literally the first place we encountered. I parked around the corner whilst my wife went to investigate. Once the traffic eased I returned and parked in the driveway. By this time my wife had inspected and confirmed our two night stay. This was not the dearest but still fairly expensive, however, once seeing the place I was overwhelmed. There are only two rooms, one with a queen bed, airconditioned, heated and own balcony. The other room had two king sizes single beds, spar bath, but in between each room there was a lounge, with giant TV and kitchenette. There was a choice of normal breakfast or full breakfast included. Afternoon cake and constant tea or coffee available. Also available complete laundry equipment at no charge. Owners have only been there fairly recently, entire place is clean and comfortable. More than highly recommended.

This is a great B&B. Central, very comfortable and well appointed. Don't pay any attention to the negative review below about this B&B. It was extremely clean, and beautifully set up, with really good quality linen, fittings and facilities, and lovely touches like hand cream & moisturiser and fresh flowers. The owners are very friendly and helpful, but if you don't need anything from them they leave you alone, so it's very private, which is great for a B&B. There's excellent security, with a key code on the external door and a key lock on your bedroom door. There's a guest lounge with a kitchen, and free wifi. I'll definitely be staying here again.
