The historic house is beautiful, the bedroom was great, the bush walk/boardwalk to the harbour was awesome, the hike up Mt. Parihaka (entrance to trail across the street) was exhilarating, and the breakfast was delicious. Jennie is an extraordinary host. No hesitation in recommending Chelsea House!

We received a very warm welcome from Jennie and Tony, on arrival. Shown to our very well equipped room, and then offered drinks with the hosts. Jennie was extremely helpful, going through our very extensive trip itinerary, and offering her advice of places to visit, whilst touring NZ. Lovely breakfast, with the other guests in a very relaxed atmosphere. Thank you Jennie and Tony, we wouldn't hesitate in recommending you or visiting you again, if we return.

My wife and I spent last night at this excellent B and B. The accommodation is well located a short car ride from the centre of town. Jennie and her husband are brilliant hosts who could not have made us more welcome and been more attentive to our requirements. They spent time with us before we arrived and during our stay helping us to plan our month in NZ. We have no hesitation in recommending them and will return on our next visit. Merry Christmas and thanks for your review. I hope your travels in NZ went well and you missed some of the rain forecast. Yes, the walk into town via the bush is so lovely, but don’t forget I do offer to come down, just a few mins drive to pick our guests up to save them that last leg home.

Jennie, is a star went it comes to hosting her guests. We felt immediately at home and felt sorry we had to leave after staying for three nights over period of 4 days. Reason for visiting Whangarei was to watch under 19 cricket but we found two friends in Tony and Jennie. They introduced us to the best restaurants, cooked a meal at home and ate together and did some nice drives to the beach in between. Will go there again just to stay with them. Best hosts in New Zealand

Thank you for your glowing review. It was so nice to meet you all and share our home with you and your family. We too felt we had also made new friends with you and your family, so much so, that Sri Lanka is now on our bucket list. Merry Christmas and all the best in 2019. Jennie & Tony
