We stayed for two and two nights at the nice home of Jennie and Tony in Whangarei. The room was spacious enough for our four suitcases, the bed comfortable, we have had our own bathroom - it is a bit small, but very clean. The room is near to a busy street, so it can be quite noisy. But the hosts provide you with earplugs or bring your own ones. Everything is provided: you have water in the fridge, you can make coffee or tea over the day, soap, shampoo etc is in the bathroom. The two rooms share a big lobby with a TV and you have Wifi even in your room. Best of all are the hosts: always in the morning we have had great conversations about different topics. Jennie and Tony helped us a lot with planning our days. You can walk to the city centre in about twenty minutes. Thanks a

Hi, Thanks so much or taking time after your holiday to leave your review. It was great getting to know you both over your two nights with us, this is the part we enjoy the most - having that personal rapport with our guests. We have been so busy in the short time we have owned the house, and have been waiting for the quieter months without guests, so we can get additional glazing of windows to be installed, to remedy the sound levels. Kindest regards Jennie

We stayed for only one night but wished it had been longer. Jenny and Tony were lovely hosts during our stay. To be offered a drink and something to eat on arrival was great. Our room was large and beautifully presented with lots of little extras in the en- suite. A great selection of breakfast foods were available. Will be recommending to others and hope to return in the future. Many thanks Jane & Mike

Hi Jane and Mike, Thank you for taking the time to review us. I’m pleased we were able to take you as a walk in guest whilst you were visiting your friend in Whangarei. We would love to host you again in the future. Plan to stay at least three days and we will find you plenty to do and see in that time. We would greatly appreciate any referrals to friends and family. Cheers Jennie

I highly recommend this place!:) Not only is the house absolutely gorgeous (my ideal house for sure.. house goals!) but the hosts were just amazing. Jennie and Tony are a lovely couple who greeted us in their gorgeous house with a warm welcome. they were very helpful in giving us information on places to go and things to do. We went through our itinerary with them, and they brought out maps and we had discussions around where to go. They also provided us with some handy websites which offered last minute deals in the areas we were travelling to in NZ. The bedroom/bathroom was beautiful and they also had brochures and info available in the hallway.. along with some delicious cake. Lovely breakfast and great conversations. We felt like we were staying at an aunts house. Very

Hi, Thank you soooo much for your awesome review. Your arrival was a special occasion for us, as you were our 500th guests through in 17 months and to share with your surprise 33rd birthday celebrations was a bonus. It was great to follow your onward journey around NZ. Now it’s given you a taste of our country you’ll have to come back and explore some more. Cheers Jennie

Jennie & Tony were wonderful hosts. The room was excellent and the bed very comfortable. Yummy breakfast and Jennie adjusted to our schedule when we had to leave early to get to a scheduled outing. Even preparing snacks for us to take with us. Jennie recommended and helped to schedule a boat trip at Bay of Islands a highlight of our trip. Would definitely stay again if travels took us there.

This lovely colonial house is well placed for exploring in and around Whangarai. Jennie and Tony were very welcoming. Jennie in particular was very generouis with her time and information about local eateries and attractions. Our en-suite room was spacious, lovingly furnished and very comfortable. The covered balcony, on which to enjoy a glass of the complimentary wine or a hot drink, was a joy to sit on as the sun went down. The guest lounge was large and very comfortable.Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The toasted fruit loaf was exceptional. We would recommend this property without reservation.
