This impeccably detailed and managed B&B was "pinch me, I must be dreaming" stuff. Hosts Jenny and Tony seriously know what they are doing in this business. The rooms had ensuites (not expected) and the beds were good quality and really comfy. It's walking distance to shops and eateries. The breakfast had a huge range from which to choose and prepared when we wanted it! The whole stay simply excellent!! Definately returning!!!!

We love bungalows and villas, so Chelsea House was a real treat. The building and grounds have been well maintained and the 1900s charm has been kept while overlaying it with tasteful modernity. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Each having their own en-suite. Tony and Jennie, our hosts, were welcoming and made us feel right at home. Jennie is a fountain of knowledge on the things that we could see and do while in the region - and there are lots! So often we stop in Whangarei to refuel and don't consider it far enough north to be a destination, but it is. Taking Jennie's advice, we spent a couple of great days exploring the surrounding beaches and rivers, and exploring the restaurants, cafes and art shopping at the town centre and basin. Chelsea House is centrally

Hi Kefyn, Thank you so much for your review. It was lovely to host you and Karen during your recent stay with us. Often guests just stay one night on their way to the Bay of Islands or on their way back to Auckland. They then don't have the time to explore the surrounding areas, beaches, bush walks, river walks, arts and crafts which you did. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again on your next visit to Northland. Kindest Regards Jennie & Tony

Dear Jennie I want to thank you for hosting me at Chelsea House yesterday. !! What a treat !!... When you get into a new place & meet new people.. there are many options.. best is to feel confortable / at ease / relax / like you had been there many times & just coming back after a long absence. ALL of these is what you made me feel at Chelsea House. You made me feel as a family member offering me your own meal and tea / coffee / fruits / loaf of freshly baked cake... with that simplicity & happy smile in your face. Room was immaculate / everything well thought & perfect.. Breakfast with fresh fruits / yogurt / baked croissant.. no detail missing besides happy & easy conversation.. Helpful is not the word... is much more than that.. its quality time.. that makes a BIG

Muchas gracias for your fabulous review. Although it was only a one night stay, from the time we welcomed you in the door I knew that we would enjoy hosting you. It was great that you had the time after breakfast and business appointment to have a really good chat. I’m excited to try the Chilean Pisco Sour you have made using our lemons. Please keep in touch and you are ever in Northland again we would love to see you and meet the rest of the family. All the best Jennie

This was easy to find, off-street parking and central to most places. We had 2 nights there and Jennie and Tony were wonderful, offering a drink and food when we first arrived. The continental breakfasts were excellent with great selections of homemade jams etc. Our heritage room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and well-appointed for what we needed in the ensuite. Overall a beautiful and comfortable heritage building, and full marks to Jennie and Tony who went out of their way to make our stay so special.

Easy to find with off street parking and a level drive. Very comfortable and spacious with access to a big lounge and tea/coffee snacks. Delicious breakfast and very interested and interesting hosts who can recommend various local sites to visit. Over the road from the house is a 9km walking circuit that takes you through mangroves, past the Town Basin and along the river. This couple know the area and have had a history of being involved in Tourism in one form or another.
