Marina Court is a traditional Kiwi-style motel with 1 and 2-bedroom units as well as open plan studio units, all with self contained kitchenette facilities with a price to suit everyone. Marina Court Motel offers modest and comfortable accommodation, with a splash of brand new thrown in, conveniently located a flat 15 minute walk from the Town Basin and city centre on the edge of the Hatea River, the closest motel to the Whangarei Airport and adjacent to the Riverside Marina, offering a perfect opportunity to rest your sea legs should your boat need some tender loving care. Free WiFi, a BBQ garden area and coin operated laundry on site. Marina Court is a great place to base yourself to explore the rest of Northland and we are very happy to help you with ideas on what to do while in the area.

A quaint little motel on the water, very clean and tidy and it has all the amenities you need such as a kitchenette, flat screen t.v, comfy couch and beds and a good shower.
The nautical theme gives it a relaxing feel. You can stroll along the river passed the yacht basin into town, along the way you'll find the Whangarei Aquatic Centre, some restuarants and bars, and there was a monthly Saturday morning market where they had some arts and crafts and food stalls. I would stay here again.

If you want five-star luxury don't stay here, but if you want a clean, comfy place for a decent price, go for it! Sure, it's old-style but the things you need to be updated have been - i.e. good shower, comfy bed. It's very clean and the owners are very nice, also central location and nice to be beside the water. We were in the end unit by the road which we thought could be a problem with traffic noise but it died down after business hours so not a problem. We would stay here again if in Whangarei.

We only stayed for one night, which was OK, and reasonable value for money. The unit was very clean and had been completely renovated, but lacked any homely charm - it was basic. The hot water came from a tank in a kitchen cupboard, and we discovered (too late) that there only enough hot water for one shower. We'd probably try a different motel if we are ever in the area again - for a more comfortable feel, but it served our purposes for just one night.

Had a really nice stay here. The rooms are kept very clean and the shower had great pressure. Super friendly staff who were happy to let me check in early. Easy access to Town Basin and CBD. A great value when travelling through Whangarei. Loved being so near the water and sailboats!

Room very basic, but clean, no-one onsite or around most of the time. Very noisy at night - our second night had to put up with rowdy quests swearing breaking bottles. Not child friendly at all. I would also like to have been advised that this has a secondary business running on the premises which in my opinion did not make it suitable for my young grandson. Also not enough crockery/cutlery for the three people paid for.

Handy location to the Marina area with cafes and shops; around 20 minute flat walk each way. If driving, parking not a problem.
We had Unit 8, upstairs next to busy road. Parking very tight for larger car, reversing out even tighter. Unit was very clean. Kitchenette, dining table and 4 chairs and double bed in main room (no sofa or comfortable chair); 2 single beds in bedroom. Nice touches; separate toilet room, 2 chairs and small table outside on balcony.
Traffic noise kept these rural dwellers awake all night, as did the bright lights from street and stair lighting shining through glass door (a simple curtain would fix this). Heat was also a problem.
A friendly, clean place at a good price point, but perhaps not the best for people seeking a quiet place to get away from it all, or want a view.

Comfortable place to stay, right on the marina. We had two rooms, the function of the first room was livingroom, kitchen and dining with a single bed. The second room was a bedroom. The bathroom was ensuite. The flat panel TV was movable from one room to the other. Overall it was quite spacious. The hotel manager was very helpful with her advise and was flexible with regard to check-out time. Note to travellers from the USA - the milk in the refrigerator is for morning coffee or tea.

I travel a lot for work, and often in this region so thought I would give Marina a try. Room was lovely and big, nice cooking facilities and breakfast bar. Unfortunately there was no hot water so showers we cold and my room was not properly cleaned after the first night, the bed not made and only the dishes done, with clean towels. I had to unexpectedly return home a night earlier than my paid for 3 nights and although I didn't let them know until 2pm in the afternoon I was told it was too late to receive any refund (although I would hardly expect a full refund, understandably) because the cleaners had already been. Considering the cleaning efforts were poor, and to be told at the end of my stay the hot water wasn't working was poor service in my opinion. I will not be retuning to Marina Court.

Stayed here while Rally Whangarei was on. Great locations and rooms were enough for what we needed. Lovely people. Only little annoying thing is the lack of car parking and area to turn vehicles around. Rooms were also equipped for how many that was recommends eg. Recommended 3 so 3 cups, 3 chairs, 3 plates. So hard when you have an extra on their roll away bed.

A short break over Christmas was taken at this motel, we had the granny flat and couldn't fault it. Service was excellent, a special request for a blind over a door was promptly dealt with, and really appreciated. The room had everything we needed and the location was perfect for walking to town. The only request my son had was a playground, which they didn't have, but he was happy to go on the park in the town basin, Would highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Whangarei.
