Went down here for dinner with some friends and it was so good! This place is normally a hit or miss in my experience but their menu has since changed and the service was very fast and good. Everything was so well prepared and done which made the night a great experience.
Myself, my Dad and my sister all stayed here in 3 units next to each other. The units were sparkling clean, very comfortable bed and great shower with a lovely harbour view to top it off. Raewyn could not have been more accommodating. Apart from her warm friendly welcome, she went out of her way to make our visit a very pleasurable one. Very good value for money, we will be staying there again for sure.
Myself and my husband arrived at the flames hotel in Onerahi on the day of my birthday. We were greeted by two lovely, friendly and well presented ladies who were absolutely wonderful and welcoming.Once they knew it was my birthday they automatically upgraded our room from an executive room to a king suite. They answered all our questions about their restaurant and room service everything.I have to say this place was great a wonderful stay away from home just for parents to relax one night away from the kids for a much needed rest and relaxation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our room even had room service after a delicious dinner in their restaurant.Had our dessert brought to our room enjoyed our nice cold glass of beer and our sky tv.Thanks Flames Hotel you and your staff were great we will definitely be staying again soon. Our room had everything we needed warm blankets comfortable bed huge bed king size excellent shower and pressure.Toiletries small kitchenette to make a coffee or milo.Very happy overall. And a lovely view from our second floor balcony. This place is lovely and older hotel but still lovely with everything you need food at restaurant is AMAZING!!!!!.…
Started with overcooked seafood, then very 'rustic' plated mains. The protein of the mains (chicken and lamb shanks) were tasty, however plating unappealing and vegetables very basic. Dessert was the best part with a choc mint Brule and baked cheesecake. Although the choc mousse with the cheesecake didn't work for us. VERY GLAD we had a voucher as would have been annoyed to have paid full price. Staff were good. Decor a bit lacking, with an empty wall near us with a picture hook, but no art. Unfortunately very typical of a hotel restaurant.
I was in Whangarei last weekend and this hotel was perfect to enjoy my stay there. I loved the view from the room and breakfast was amazing!! The staff was also very nice, trying to help you in anything you need! I would highly recommend!!
