Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This motel is perfectly located, close to supermarkets and fast food outlets with a café almost next door. A short walk into town. Some of the little extras in the room were appreciated, such as paper towels, hand wash etc.

It's been over a year since we last stayed at Siena Motor Lodge so we were very pleased to see the same high standards that we've enjoyed on previous stays. Well appointed units (these range from tiny studios to large seperate bedroom units); we've stayed in every type and all are spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, air-conditioning, kitchen area with very appreciated extras such as paper towels and plastic wrap, bathrooms with shower or bath that's comfortable and modern. The owners and staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Close to supermarkets and a bit of a walk to the town centre. Car parking outside your unit. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

A supporter of local business we found this weekend get away ticked all the boxes for my husband and I in terms of hospitality, location, room, ammenities, parking, and privacy. Walking distance to the CBD, supermarkets, takeaways and a number of the towns main attractions, in a pleasant, flat leafy end of town. Ron was very generous with his time and restaurant advice which topped of a wonderful weekend. Would highly recommend this motor lodge to anyone visiting Whanganui.

I stayed here briefly for one night in October 2022. The hotel is well located on the main street. Around the hotel there are several supermarkets and restaurants (McDonalds etc) and just down the road is the main shopping area. It's fairly straight-forward to get to/from State Highway 3.

The room was large, with a heat pump, all the usual shampoo/soap etc in the bathroom, and, in my bathroom, there was a spa pool which was so tempting but I did not have time to use it. The wifi worked well.

Parking is more or less outside the door to the unit.

I will consider staying here again on my next visit to Whanganui.

It’s hard to improve on being the best motel in town but I find little extras each time I visit.. Friendly, helpful owners and staff, well appointed rooms with extra touches such as kitchen utensils including paper towel and cling wrap; bathroom with so many lights, heat and fans, you laugh as you choose the options you want, good TV ( some rooms have 2), air con, free on-site parking. The best thing is very comfortable beds with clean comfortable bedding and the feeling you can just relax and enjoy your stay. Supermarkets nearby. Location is on main shopping street but just outside of the busy centre.

Decor a bit 90’s. Very central, didn’t hear traffic noise. Warm on a cold night. Everything you need. Artwork screwed to wall a bit crass. Radio alarm clock (who knew they still existed?!) woke us from a sound sleep in the middle of the night very loudly. Suggest you remove them from the rooms as people use their phones if needing an alarm these days.

This is a great motor lodge in a very good location, walking distance from many places to eat. Our room was a studio and was quite spacious and the bathroom lovely and clean. The bed was very comfy and we had a great sleep with no outside noise. Friendly owner. HIghly recommended.

Having read the last 3 reviews I agree with the comments made. (We had no trouble with noise from adjoining units) Not all units have the spa bath. Otherwise hard to fault. Next door is a cafe (Parnells ) very good breakfast venue although the Sienna does offer an in room service as well.

I couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay . At such short notice, I found a place to stay . The host was very welcoming, very helpful, and made me feel Iike nothing was a problem . The room that I stayed in was super clean and tidy. I highly recommend this for a place to stay and would definitely stay again .

When I arrived at the property I got worried. There was scaffolding over the front and a large construction project next door. I didn't need to worry. The owners are upgrading the property and it looks like they are constantly striving to improve it. There was no noise at all and the interior of the unit was lovely. The owner was pleasant and helpful about things to see and do in town.
